Great Lisas_world 2006-01-20 6:54

Well happy birthday, Hugh. Nice lighting in this scene, good depth. The jetty seems to almost be in contrast to the pavilion & long pier, which is the kind of thing we see on tv getting demolished in hurricanes. Those rocks, on the other hand, ain't movin'.

This would have been more dramatic a little later in the day, when the sky deepened some and the sun really burned its final glory. But a nice view nonetheless. Looks like a great beach for walking.

Regards,
Lisa

Default To Lisas_world: Hurricanes

Tybee Island has not had a directly hit by a hurricane in over a hundred years. Though I will miss the salt grass at sunset and the ebb and flow of the tides, I am glad to be moving away this summer to the next adventure. I fear a big one is long over due statistically. My father inlaw is involved with the rebuilding in New Orleans, and I have seen his photographs. It would break my heart to see that happen to Savannah and this part of the Golden Islands and I don't want to be living here when it happens.
