Hi Martin,
I think the most obvious change is the number of pixels, 8 megapixels for the 350D and 6 for the 300D. To see the many changes, I invite you to see the first page of the review of the 350D of DPReview (excellent web site, by the way). See the section "Summary of changes (compared to the EOS 300D / Digital Rebel)". Hope that helps! Claire |

And for a quick glance at the changes between the two camera's you can use the side by side tool from Dpreview.com.

and the fact that the D350 takes almost no time to be ready to shoot, unlike the 300D, which is a bit slow, 2 to 3 seconds after turning on. If a 300D is available and in good shape at around 500$, I'd snap it over the 900$ 350D. then buy a prime lens or save towards a cool zoom with the difference. the 300D takes great pictures, a real step up would be the 20D, not the 350D, I'd opine.

Biggest differences are:
8.0MP vs 6.1MP (300D) 0.2s power up vs 2.5s power up (300D) Shorter shutter lag on the 350D Mirror lockup and other features available on the 350D, only with a warranty invalidating 3rd party firmware hack on the 300D The 300D is basically a crippled 10D, but in most respects the 350D is superior to the 10D! I wouldn't buy a 300D, but I've just bought my brother a 350D - does that answer your question ;) |

hi
i had the 300d, and i have now the 350d. what i can say is: - i prefered the confort of the 300d - i prefer the small size of the 350d - i prfer the pixels of the 350d - i prefer (that is the best point) the quickness of treatment of the images (300d is so slow..) - i don't like the "cheap " aspect of the 350d ...what i recommend you, after 8 months of use, is wait a bit, and try the 20d (exactly the same as the 350d, but very nice touch and good feeling in your hands...) hope this can help |
