Great cherryripe 2005-12-05 13:56

Hi Tan
It's true that it's not one of your best mostly due to the grain. I like the framing with the way the river winds under the bridge.

Unfortunately I don't have one to post of this bridge for the following reason. I was in Mostar in October 1988 and remember taking shots of guys jumping off it despite the cold. A couple of weeks later, my camera and undevelopped films including all my shots of pre-war Sarajevo, Mostar and Dubrovnik were stolen on a train in Italy. Sob Sob !
At least I can put this one in among my favorites so I can look at it when I want to.
Thanks for sharing.
Nikki

Default To cherryripe: stolen film

thanks Nikki - that is really unfortunate, and unfortunately frequent. I was once on a night train Milan-Bari standing up in the corridor because all the seats were full. At one point the train stopped in the middle of nowhere, these 2 young guys came out of a compartment with backpacks trying to open the locked train door to get out. I even helped them open it thinking it was their station, anyway they got out, a few minutes later 2 british girls came out of the same compartment saying their backpacks were missing. I felt so bad about it.

Hi Tan
Thanks for your reply.
I can imagine how bad you must of felt. In my case, I was all alone in a compartment on a Venice-Turin train and I'd pushed 2 chairs together to sleep and put my day pack underneath. My main pack was safely attached up on the luggage rack. Anyway, the robber would have had to have crawled on his stomach to get it. I woke up seeing the door open. I'd hesitated in getting the films developped that day in Venice and if I had, the photos would have been in my main pack which wasn't stolen.
Regards Nikki
