Default An important lesson in Photoshop

http://www.adobe.com/misc/trade.html#photoshop

I guess we have to be a bit more careful now when writing our notes and critiques :)

Hey is that serius?.. (i know it is)
it looks like a .. not so funny joke, nobody does that thing the it sais. IF somebody forced people to do so then they wouldn 't sell not even half of the software they got.

I'm glad I use Paint Shop Pro...

:o)

That is really stupid. There are really people with nothing useful to do in their lives...

To workaround this, we shortcut it and use Toshop instead.
It happens to other world famous trademarks for example "United Color Of" is a copyrighted.
That's a shame.

It is stupid, no doubt about it. In Adobe's defense, this probably comes down to the legal technicality that one must actively protect their trademarks or risk losing them. I am no lawyer, but the basis of the law is that if you knowingly allow others to infringe upon your trademarks without taking action, the trademark can actually be lost. I would guess that such ridiculous notices are put up with that intent. I can't help but think that Adobe is privately thrilled to know that "Photoshopping" has entered the lexicon. Amounts to a lot of free advertising.

If this real it's not aimed to us...

"You may use Adobe trademarks (but not logos or taglines) to identify Adobe products, services, and programs on packaging, promotional, and advertising materials, provided you adhere to the following guidelines:"

Well, as for me i'm a happier user of PaintShopPro ahahahaha
