Hello John - I only had to glance at the TN to know that this one was special. I love cottage gardens and particularly delicate English plantings of blues and white so this has instant appeal. (Would look good on a chocolate box .... do you think Will would object to adorning the lid of one?) No matter that, the composition with the flower bordered pathway leading the eye to the Tudor style house and the finely detailed sky beyond is really top class. Gorgeous colours, a fine composition and excellent sharpness. A real pleasure to see. Warm regards Rosemary
PS Black Magic!

No, I'm afraid that, like me, Will has white hair so I don't think either of us would be able to reveal the secret of the Black Magic Box. More likely we might be considered as candidates for an aging Milky Bar Kid. ![]() Best Wishes, John. |

Your comment made me smile. Do the people who make Ovaltine make chocolate? Rosemary

Not sure if they make chocolate or not, but here's something to bring back childhood memories!

Not a chocolate box surely: may I be consigned to a new real ale. Maybe "Pretentious Pervert"...

Hi Will,
That sounds really good! A new real ale called after us two old buffers - "Pretentious Pervert" seems like just the job! Hope you don't mind my taking your name (or your image) in vain with this one - I just couldn't resist it! And I hope you didn't find this picture too "chocolate boxy" for your liking either. Where are all the rest of your pictures from the weekend? Even Len posted a rather unflattering picture of me talking to a tree here! Actually, I thought it was a very good picture too considering the poor light there. What do you think? Great to meet you, Will. I hope we meet up again soon as I really enjoyed the weekend and your company. Kindest Regards, John. |
