Great ACL1978 2012-08-02 15:15

Abmdsudi, are those clouds or emissions from the volcano? Either way, they're stunning, clinging to the horizon, with the wisp of darker clouds hanging around them. You did some great lighting work here, expressing the sunrise with delicate exposure while still not losing the light on the trees or the reflections in the water. Really a breathtaking shot.

Default To ACL1978: Bang!

Hi Andrew
Sorry for the late reply and tx to your interest, much appreciated

The unusual streak of dark cloud was not from volcanic emissions. although the nearest active volcano from this shooting location is Dukono volcano 1183m in nothern Halmahaera island but last erupted 1933.

The latest volcanic eruption in this vicinity took place in May 2008 when the Gamalama 1715m on neighboring Ternate island woke up from slumber and bang!

Tx once a again. hv a great day

Regards
