Default TE is vertical-photos-unfriendly

We have mentioned the problem with Tyro in another thread but nobody seems to care so I decided to start a new one with a more adequate title so that may be more people will notice it and join in complaining.
To see how the problem has developed have a look into this thread:
HERE.

It seems that in the main TE site all photos are being extended to a default 800px at the base. This works fine for horizontal shots but the vertical ones are often narrower in original as people wanted them to be seen full in the screen without rolling the page to see the rest of the photo.
Extending a smaller photo to larger size decreases dramatically their quality. Increasing their actual size to 800px at the bottom before the upload keeps their quality but in both main TE and beta TE they are now too large to see.
So either your photo will have a bad quality or people will not be able to see it fully.

Can you test it now?

EDIT: Merged the other thread talking about the same issue into this one.

Thank you Paul,
after doing the ctrl-F5 it seems to work perfectly now. I will keep watching it as I am sure tyro will.
I appreciate you taking tare of this. I sorry for using harsh words sometimes it is like I try to cry for help.
Thank you!
