To exclude a member for a week is one thing but to delete the photos is entirely another. Its akin to book burning! A body of work lost forever to members old and new.

7-day ban? Better be back in 7 days with all his photos and notes!

... and imagine... if this is the case, what a Christmas party that would be!!!!!!!

So guys and girls... prepare your most funny, colorful, original, weird, or festive post to welcome him upon his return! I'm sure George will be back as well! He is a tough man! :))

Remember: against adversity (and stupidity), PROTEST AND LAUGH!!!

George didn't even argue with Scott Hale. He disagreed quite civilly over a photo and member Mr. Hale was attacking.

In other news, I have a new, fabulous photo.

This is outrageous. To have let the one go on and on and on ad nauseum, causing problems and even crossing from one site to another TO cause problems and they ban POLONAISE????? Utter nonsense.

Hi Catherine

I fully agree with you.
You don't need to have a PhD in psychology to understand that this site should be moderated more intelligently by communicating beforehand.

No regrets about Scott because this is the kind of behaviour that must be sanctionned.

Things must be ruled... but we need a vision... we need to understand where this site wants to go to... and adhere to that project.

If all George's contributions are not restored. I will leave TE.

The following comes from Polonaise himself; I am posting this on his request:

This is the link to the story that banned me from TE http://www.trekearth.com/viewphotos.php?l=3&p=990535

Scott Halle went a bit off course in attacking Jose Diogo.

And, I decided to defend the guy by the only way Scott will understand.

Not a sarcasm or intelligent irony or mockery, but sharp, sound reprimand…

Like a man to man…

Like saying: Enough is enough…

Jose Diogo looks to me like such a defenseless, meek guy… He does marvelous job within that Africa rescue project. He is a GREAT human being.

Scott attacked him – I attacked Scott…

Just one, single time…Ever…

Never publicly argued or fought... Not even continuing my disagreement with Scott about Jose !

The Photo in question was titled Sadness and that just about sums up this situation. That (understandably) George felt compelled to defend Jose, that Scott and Lukie continued a slanging match over the head of this innocent child is something beyond sadness. This is a site supposedly about learning about the earth through photography not a site about learning about photography through the world. There is a distinction. Paramount is the learning process, about the world we share first and then, only then about the skills of photography.Jose showed us a picture that should have brought forward thoughts about the plight of refugees instead what we got was a disgusting display of imperviousness.
A further sadness is that photographers that i admire are now thinkng of quitting TE. Please don't.
I have recently added to a thread on TL because a member there as been upset by the same person and has decided to give up posting the Friday themes.Another sadness.

From time to time, members who are contributing to a negative atmosphere on sites are given a short "time out". This is temporary, like most things on the internet. The moderation team makes these calls in the interest of the whole community. In this case, a few users have been given a temporary 7-day ban.

We are doing this in an effort to turn the conversation back to photography!
Thank you for your cooperation.
