I heard an interesting theory, Kevin, to account for the difficulty that many original peoples seem to have with alcoholism. I'll try to find some link to a reputable journal, but the idea (and I am not necessarily a proponent of this theory, and we are admittedly painting with a VERY broad brush here!) is that people stopped being nomadic when they started cultivating grains for beers and spirits and grapes for wines. The folks in those groups with little tolerance for the stuff were bred out fairly quickly (although obviously not 100%, if you've ever seen certain friends of mine at a party), and the modern gene pool reflects that selection. Groups who never went through that selection are particularly prone to suffer.
But about this portrait -- wow! The extreme close-up is marvelous, the lighting is perfect, and the details are incredible. Thanks for sharing!
