Hello Andrew,
The long format of this picture represents well the view one has of a platform in a subway station while waiting on the other quay.
The inclusion of the woman and the full name of the station makes it a wonderful daily life-picture.
The mural looks so colourful. You say it depicts Spanish landscapes. I believe the left half of the mural shows the city of Toledo.

Thanks, Paul - for the comments and the supposition about the mural. I dimly recall reading at some point that Toledo was featured in this station, but I wasn't sure, so I appreciate the information.
