I get my little P50 since 4 years (99 € !) : it was my first digital camera ! (i'd only little compact cameras before) . I've bought a canon g10 two years ago . But i think that I prefer the Nikon , better in term of exposure , and the image quality seems to be very close (even you don't read that at all in photo magazines) .
Today , I suppose that the Nikon P50 is not long available . But i suppose that the Nikon P300 or P310 could be a good little camera ( nikon p7000 or 7100 is bigger and more expensive ), with the effective D-lighting . I use this Nikon function after taking the shot with an underexposure (-2/3) . Then I make some little corrections in PP (gammas , sharpness , colors) The result is very attractive , for my taste .
