Hi Paul, superb action shot.. you must have been fairly close to get such detail.. I know I have tried in the past and never had your success.. the sea is such a beautiful deep blue.. well posted Ric

You would not believe how many photos I had to delete from the whale tour. It was suggested that 300m focal length was ideal, while I had my Canon 100-400 zoom being employed. Most whale photos are deleted because of blur is my guess. So I cranked up the ISO to 640 and made sure I shot in TV mode using 1/800 of a second shutter. But by far my biggest challenge was to then get the whale in the viewfinder because you cannot keep see the whales looking through the viewfinder only... you miss out on locating the action. And then there were the waves, the rocking boat, and my fear of salt water on my camera...Oh well its just a Canon...
