Question crazy links

Just one more detail to add to the consequences of the site outage..

I discovered it unexpectedly when I saw this photo posted a little while ago: "Puerto de Vueltas II ".

please, pay attention to the full URL of the photo!

http://www.trekearth.com/gallery/Europe/Spain/Canarias/La_Gomera/Valle_Gran_Rey/photo1346299.htm
Everything seems correct both in the URL and the Location.

The problem seems to be as follows:

The same photo ("Puerto de Vueltas II ") was posted on the day of the site outage (Date Submitted: 2012-02-09 2:28 ).
(I have the habit of opening photos in a zillion tabs in my FireFox - to save for future critiquing, and by miracle this tab still remained open till today - each time reloading the contents of it from the browser's cache), so here is the URL of this photo:

http://www.trekearth.com/gallery/Europe/Spain/Canarias/La_Gomera/Valle_Gran_Rey/photo1346038.htm

please, pay attention to the full URL of the photo!

But: if you click on this URL you will see quite a different picture with quite a different location (
Asia -> Pakistan ->East ->Sindh ->HYDERABAD) - but with the same URL stating Spain-Canaries... etc

---------------
..and one more photo: "Riders of Mijas"

http://www.trekearth.com/gallery/Europe/Spain/Andalucia/Malaga/Mijas/photo1346035.htm

but you will not see any Malaga if you click on the link, you will see a lonely tree located at: France --> South --> Midi-Pyrenees --> Lunac ,
but the URL of France will still be the one stating Malaga
---------------

I have a question: is it only me who sees these links and photos like that, or is it really so?

Another question to the Tech team (to be solved, most probably, not earlier than Monday, though): what to do about it?

PS. can anybody explain to me why these two different URLs show the same photo?

1. http://www.trekearth.com/gallery/Europe/Switzerland/West/Valais/Eggishorn/photo1346235.htm

2. http://www.trekearth.com/gallery/Europe/United_Kingdom/England/London/London/photo1346235.htm

And also these, for example:

1. http://www.trekearth.com/gallery/Eur...oto1346155.htm

Question Data Base

Hi Fanni - That is SO weird. Before the site fell over I kept getting messages that data could not be saved on the database. I reckon that there was a residual 'bug' or something hiding in the system from the previous week. I'm not a computer boffin by any means but I know that worms can hide and then something triggers them to wake up. The whole thing is very odd. Security on the site is compromised I think. Have a great weekend. Rosemary

PS. I think all those files you link to were posted the day of the big fall over

Hi Rosemary,
the fact is that not all of these photos were posted on that day!
I gave only a couple of examples.. In reality, there are many more...

I tend to think so, too... maybe they haven't got rid of the virus completely yet?

Just one more example:
http://www.trekearth.com/gallery/Nor...oto1346202.htm

click - and you will see a photo taken in Iran!

and one more:
http://www.trekearth.com/gallery/Nor...oto1346205.htm
voila! - we're in Brazil!

I think all the links have got mixed after the site outage.

bye-bye, Database?
