Workshop.. help me please

I'm just wondering if someone could please help me. I have been trying to do some work editing TE photos but I can't seem to figure out how this whole process works.?? How does one download a selected photo onto your computers hard drive? I know this is more than likely a very easy task but I can't wrap my head around it.
