Hi Jason,
for a long time I, too, used a point-and-shoot small pocket Canon Ixus... until I realized that it's time to change ![]() 18-55 is not the best but better than nothing! ![]() It depends on what you need the camera for.. in any case, I'd advise to get a lens with Image Stabilizer. It's more expensive but it helps a lot. as far as I know, these two are among the most popular ones: 50mm (for example, http://www.the-digital-picture.com/R...ns-Review.aspx) and 18-200mm (a universal one - for those who do not want to bother about changing the lenses every minute )...http://www.the-digital-picture.com/R...ns-Review.aspx PS. on TE there are more professional photographers than I am (I am just an amateur), so I hope you'll hear more opinions

Fanni thanks for the links on the lens I will look into getting those lens I don't shot a lot of action shots.
