Default RAW Format Processing

I just bought a Nikon D7000. I took my pictures in RAW format using the D7000. The camera came with Nikon ViewNX2, a software that can process RAW and convert it to any format, but it is too slow. I tried using Adobe Photoshop CS3 but it will not accept Nikon's NEF RAW format. This is strange because Adobe Photoshop CS3 accepts Nikon's NEF RAW format from my old camera, a Nikon D90. Can anyone explain to me why this is?

Thanks,

Andre'

Default Nikon Transfer

Hello Andre - I use Nikon Transfer to download my images, it works well for me. Then I use Capture NX2 for editing purposes. (I also have a D7000 but haver never worked with any other editing software as NX2 works well for me)

Best regards Rosemary

Default Nikon NEF Not On Adobe Camera Rawsetye

Thank you for your reply and suggestion. I also found out in other photography forums that the D7000 NEF files have not been set or recorded yet in Adobe Camera Raw system of Adobe CS3 to CS5. I may have ro wait for an upgrade download for ACR. Right now I use the Nikon View NX2 software that came with the D7000. It does the job of processing my RAW format pictures, converting it to JPG and transferring it to Photoshop. It is just a slow process.

Default Speed

Yes - the Nikon software can be slow on batch processing. I like the editing functions and am loathe to change. I don't know how I would manage with Photoshop.

Hope you get sorted soon

Default Check this

Hi Andre. Please check those two links I send:
Here they say that Camera Raw 6.3 reads Nikon D7000 Nefs.
http://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjour...dobe-labs.html

Here is a download site for it (I didn't try it)
http://www.filecluster.com/Photo-Gra...amera-Raw.html

Hope it works, good luck
