Great Waylim 2012-02-21 16:49

Hi Erdem,

I'm surprised you remember all the details of which Sect each monastery is. I remember our guide telling us all the different sects and branches...I could remember any of it after 2 minutes :) Off course back at home we have the Lonely Planet to refer to...

A very good photo actually, I like the window shot, there are many beautiful and colorful windows, this one is special since you got alll the docoration and the monk inside one of the frame. There is even a ray of light on his face. the bags and hot water canister is a bonus on the window sill. Which is very commonly carried by the pilgrames who come from many parts of the country.

Default To Waylim: Yellow hat

Thank you very much Dear Way.

I must confess I do a little research before posting pictures, but here it is hard to forget the sect in question, because it is a major monastery and it belongs to the main one: Yellow hats/Gelugpa. Tours in Tibet seem to focus on this mainstram sect's monasteries. :-)

The monk was actually standing next to me outside of the sacred building. What you see on the window is a reflection.

Thanks again.

With friendship,

Erdem
