Re: Incredible photos

I'm aware of that. I like my photographs to be viewed, and I like to view photographs. I don't mind comments at all. TE forces critique, lots and lots of critiques, so there's a lot of generic...

Re: Incredible photos

I'm not interested in critiques. I joined TE strictly for the "Learning about the world through photography". It turned out to the most critque-obsessed site I've ever seen! My best critiques are my...

Re: resize photos

1- Make a copy of the original
2- Close the original
3- Resize (Edit > Image size (or is it Image > Image size?)) to TE requirement (800px or less on the longest side). Make sure the "constraint...

Re: The use of Cokin Filter A121 Graduated Gray G2 ND8

The filter is rectangular and you need a holder and two rings (one for ech lens) that screws on the lens thread to which the holder attaches. My guess is that the "A" in "A121" means the A system,...

To borka: elk

They're all wild, just very used to humans. They look tame but they can be agressive, especially males during rut. Two girls almost got impaled by a male when they walked by. In Jasper, a...

To Cavecanem: Bandes noires

Merci. J'aurais préféré faire sans les bandes mais sans elles, l'image était trop petite pour être uploadée. (min. 250px)

Re: Photo quality given Trek Earth photo size limits

There's no need to play with dpi. Web images are measured in pixels, nothing else.

1- Resize your images to 800px on the longest side.
2- Apply "unsharp mask"
3- "Save for web" in Photoshop...

To cdmonson: exposure

Thanks. It was shot a long time ago. From what I remember, exposures were never more than 30 seconds for sure, probably more around 10 sec. The water was actually still because of the sheet of ice...

Re: New Full Size Panorama Feature Available

I just tried uploading a panorama. My 900 pixel-wide photo is too wide so I resized it, and now the short side is too short...

To thierry37: Potholes

Potholes are holes on the road. The access road to Edith Cavell has quite a few of them.

In Québec, Gaspésie is not to be missed.

Gaspésie park: Mont Albert trail, mont Ernest-Laforce or Olivine at sunrise and Xalibu in the afternoon, Jacques-Cartier for cariboos. Forillon is superb,...
