To lousat: Boxing dwarves

Ciao Luciano, e grazie per il commento.

Sono d'accordo: e' un argomento spinoso, e su cui ci sarebbe molto da dire e soprattutto da pensare. Come principio, condivido in pieno: sfruttare le...

To Energysavingelk: He 111

Hello Sven,

Your comment made me smile, because when thinking about a note for the picture I was tempted to mention the Boeing B17, which also had a similar glass nose!

Have a great weekend

To batalay: Dmz

Hi Bulent,

I thought about setting the location as 'North Korea', but technically I was in South Korean territory when shooting the picture. In any case, I cannot change it anymore now :)

To worldcitizen: Color of the buildings

Hello Brenda,

As far as I know, the color is the standard United Nations blue (the one also used for the UN flag and for the helmets of their peacekeeping corps). This is because the UN authorized...

To BennyV: Passengers

Hello Benny, and thank you for your comment :)

I had to wait a little bit, yes, but probably no more than 10-15 mins to get ~5 good shots. I guess that mid-afternoon on a weekend was a...

To macjake: Iceland

Yeah, there are many marked trails in the area that you can easily follow for some really good hikes. The most famous is the Fimmvörđuháls, about 22km between Skógar and Thórsmörk that are usually...

To daddo: Melbourne TE Group

Ciao Klaudio,

I am going to be in Melbourne for 3 more weeks, so there is still time for a pint if your group organizes something while I am still here! :)

To ACL1978: enigma

Yes, the black line is a stupid mistake I made when I was about to add the watermark, and I noticed it literally 10 seconds after uploading the pic. I will upload the correct picture...

To boa: Old man and handrail

I agree, the handrail takes some of the attention away, although without it the right part of the picture would probably look empty.
In any case, I had no choice: that's where the man was seated,...

To williewhistler: blue hanger

Hello Les,

Toning down the blue was my initial plan, but then it looked to me like the hanger was still getting too much in the way.
So I preferred to "reverse the logic", and use the hanger to...

To worldcitizen: crop&frame

Indeed, cropping a bit on the left side creates a more balanced composition. I absolutely agree :)

I also like the frame idea: I used frames in the past (see my old pics), but the 800pixels limit...

E quest'anno non sta nemmeno facendo molto freddo :)

To Adrique: light

Hello Adrian,

My idea for the sunlight was to have the light source exactly where the lines of the composition lead the attention: the lines of the buildings and the tracks all converge towards...

To francio64: inquadratura

Sono assolutamente d'accordo: l'idea era di catturare il riflesso delle luci sull'acqua, ma il sensore della Fujifilm forse non e' stato del tutto all'altezza.
Probabilmente faro' un po' di...

To francio64: Sovraesposizione

Ciao Francesco,

E' vero: la foto e' sicuramente sovraesposta, ma paradossalmente e' proprio quello che mi ha piu' colpito: ai miei occhi, aggiunge un particolare tono allo sguardo della ragazza. ...

To frunchy: tilted building

Mmh.... you mean the blue/gray one? The brown lower building is actually slightly tilted (I guess I undercompensated the "barrel distortion" of the lens) but the tall one looks fine to me...
