Re: Not accepted in PHOTOHOLIK..... gulp!

You aren't missing much. The level of stuff on PH is OK, but it isn't so high as to set itself up as some kind of grouping of the elite. The thing about PH, coming from one of the very first members...

Re: Little green pill

Flickr is by far more interesting than TE. Flickr only seems big, but you have to realize that it is really a collection of many smaller communities. There are groups within flickr, and it is the...

Re: Safety first...lern a lesson...

I think the most crucial thing in all this is: repetition. I have 3 externals. I also burn each picture on 3 different CDs which I keep in a dark, cool place in their plastic cases, in a ziploc bag...

Re: TE photobook project launch.

Dejavu....

My thoughts on this book if you guys are really going to go through with it:

1. Keep it simple. A pizza is nice to eat but not nice to look at. I would therefore keep a single theme...

Re: Future Pro photo contest at Microsoft will make you mad.

Are you SERIOUSLY dreaming of becoming a pro through a contest held by Microsoft?:) Sorry to break the news but pros dont usually take the route of TE - contest - pro. Its their contest, their rules....

Re: Furachan

Paul,

you seem to have an unhealthy obsession with PH these days. Your posts are getting more and more touchy as PH is brought up in this thread. Why is that?

Ill tell you why I joined PH....

Re: Canon 40D, Canon 5D or wait for Nikon D300....

yes it does. with a FF you have many options. The 24-105 and 24-70 for a sane wide angle and nice longer reach. The 16-35 and 17-40 for a bit wider. You can get proper primes like the 24 1.4L....with...

Re: Canon 40D, Canon 5D or wait for Nikon D300....

I say go for the 5D. Even when the 5d Mk II comes out. I wouldnt buy a crop body anymore with a FF available. It kills your lens options if you like wide angles. I dont agree about not buying the 5D...

Re: ridiculous comments of photos on trekEarth

lol are you actually trying to liken yourself to Capa? If you are so thin skinned that you have to cry about someone writing some criticism, then maybe you should show your photos to friends only.

To Vato_Law: fountain

Its 5 minutes from my home. I can go there any day, if the light is good:) Its really a good place to shoot because it gives me a chance to create a unified series..stylistically and subject wise.

To Furachan: DAH

Yeah,

the thing with TKD is that I have to pretty much reshoot the whole thing. Theres a time limit - all photos have to be between July 15th and November 15th. And most of my TKD series is from...

Re: Shooting with David Alan Harvey

I got to see that forst hand. It takes him 5 seconds to become friends of a group of strangers and then in 5 more seconds he's just taking their photos and they are loving it.

Hes a great teacher...

Re: To Adam: a suggestion concerning "series" on TE

Francis,

I think the key is not to care about the reception and just post:) TE just isnt designed for series, in my opinion.

To riclopes: Totally safe

I have no fear in Seoul, its a huge city yet a place where you can be totally safe with a 10,000 dollar camera at night. Theres an amazing lack of street crime and violence in this city.

Re: To Furachan: Busy

I hate the crop factor. Pure and simple. For the 40D what can I get that will give me a wide angle and at a quality that I can get with the 5D? Im starting to shoot much more at night. I need a fast...

Re: To Furachan: Busy

what happened with the Pentax? Me, Im 99% decided on my Christmas purchase: 5D and the 24mm f/1.4 :) I was thinking of a zoom but the 24-105 and 24-70 are just too big, they are just ridiculous.
