Enid lies just to the left and accross the highway. All that is left is shacks and the old school house I have posted here.

Thanks

Re: To langaloo: Appalachians

After thinking a bit more... I do think 80 is better than 70 with much nicer scenery. I also remembered my daughters comment about traveling 70 for the first time. She was taking pictures of every...

Re: To langaloo: Appalachians

Colorado is nice but in all honesty I'm not a fan of interstate 70. Its a get there in a hurry road, as are all interstate highways. If you have time, I would recommend 40, which takes you further...

To happypoppeye: off center..

I was trying to observe the rule of third in the natural oreintation while limiting the dark portion at the bottom without losing the bright spots. Perhaps I should have started over after I saw the...

To AROBN54: That foliage

That is a spruce tree that the eagle is sitting in. I don't know what it was looking at, but it was on the verge of taking flight, so I think it's posture appears a bit unuasual. It took flight...

To rcrick: thanks

A lot of people wanted to see more water for the sake of the reflection. So I posted a second shot of the place with more water showing and a bit less saturation. It seems to get more attention, but...

To mzmehr: better composition

Hi Mohammad I agree that this isn't framed very well. I took other shots but with the bright sun the contrast was too much and blew out most of the details. I did want to share what I could of this...

To TravelerNL: The River

I didn't do anything special.. just levels contrast and some saturation. I think the river looks that way because at this point, it is heavilyloaded with glacial silt, sometimes called flower. At...

To scobert: Mountains Rising

Stan,

I think in Alaska, more than any other place I have been, the mountains do rise to incredible heights relative to their surroundings. It is one of the few places I know where you can be at...

What can I say.. heheheh... but we all know that you can get outstanding results, even from some real el cheapo cameras.

I will say that I think using CS2/3 has made a remarkable difference in the...

Hi Stan... I did not encounter any on this trip, but on the last visit this area was eat up with bears. With that in mind, I have to admit I was trying to the best of my ability to be "bearware".

To AROBN54: Brightness

I always struggle with issues of brightness, since it seems the camera seems to see thing in it's own "light". I agree it was quite bright, but then so was that day. Thanks for the workshop.

I was also there in 1987, but in the spring time, so heat wasn't an issue. In fact as I recall, it was a bit on the cool side. But almost any time of year, camping on the barrier islands is buggy, to...

Re: To nmess: Notes Attached

USM is unsharp mask. It's a sharpening tool available in most photo editing sofware that allows you to sharpen the image. Not that it's really bad, but it would help to bring out more detail....
