To tyro: shorter walk

Hi John,
No - that is another place with the same or similar name. The village is so small that it hardly gets a mention on Wikipedia.
Thanks for taking the time to comment on the photo. I took...

To Praetzer: Grain

Hello Alfred,
Thanks so much for your kind comments. I processed in LightRoom and pushed the contrast and clarity sliders to 100% to give it the 'gritty' look. I have also made a large print of it...

To tyro: Aerial view

Hello John,
I am glad you like this. I am revisiting some older photos with LR and using some of the sliders to create effect. In b/w the colour sliders act like the old filters used with b/w...

Hi Claude,
Thanks so much for your kind comments. The reflection is not of me but of another photographer in the group! A very unusual place indeed.

My picture uploaded but the note did not. Perhaps this is just one of the many problems being experienced at the moment.

To tyro: nature photography

Thanks John for your kind comments. The buzz word lately seems to be 'environmental' nature photography i.e. the opposite of close-up. This is because it is so easy now to take animals in wildlife...

To tyro: Raw processing

Thanks John for the kind comments. I use LR which is a sophisticated raw processor. I simply moved the negative clarity slider down and didn't select any particular part.

I import into PSE...

To janjan1897: partial desaturation

Thankyou for your kind comments. I did indeed do some partial desaturation as the blue tones in the picture didn't look right so I made it look more dramatic especially in the sky.

To tyro: cliff edge

Thanks John,
No rail and indeed one of our group dropped a valuable lens over the side and it fell on a small ledge a few feet down. It was far too dangerous for any of our group to attempt to...

To SnapRJW: Thanks

Hi Rosemary,
Thanks for your excellent comments. It is annoying about the scrolling I agree. The reason for the tight framing is that after doing the PP barrelling work I had to lose some - shame....

To tyro: Thanks

Hi John,
I am glad that you like this one. You are correct as the wooden buildings are just a little further down but continuous with these brick ones. I have amended my note.
Thanks very much....
