Latin American Photography

Hi, this is probably not the right forum and I apologize in advance.

I'm doing a term project on latin american photography and and working with a local museum (MOLAA - Long Beach, CA) towards that end. I am meeting the curator of photography and am searching my soul for intelligent, thoughtful questions. Below are some examples; if anybody, anywhere can think of salient questions, you would have my undying love. Thanks!

Typical questions:
If I were to say "latin american photography" what images come to mind? (I'm expecting traditional images and then show them alternative photos)

Is latin american photography distinct from modern photography? How does it reflect the nature/history/culture?
