About the homepage

I was considering about the homepage of trek earth. I find it a bit overloaded. So I was thinking about deleting the "featured critique" section and the "featured favourite photo" section to give more space to show more photo of "the featured artist". I think it could bring out the work of some one and make the page clearer.
What is your opinion about that ?

Well, the high quality critiques I am able to read on this site is something I look forward to when I browse photos. To encourage such critiques I display gold and silver stars for high quality critiquers, and display a Featured Critique on the main page. So I'd rather keep this section.

Well, the Featured Favorite Photos section was added based on suggestions from other members. I like this section also, since it displays nice photos and doesn't rely on the point system.

But if enough members don't want it I can always remove it.

I like both features but I use the "feature critique" less than the "featured favourite photo". The favorite photo shows me the exceptional photos that I have not come across.

I like the homepage just as it is.
Sure, there's quite a lot there, but unless you go for a very minimal look, maybe something that would not need scrolling, I don't think just removing these two things is appropriate. And, if the front page was shaved down to a minimum, I'd like the main link to be to a page pretty much like the one you have now. Which seems pointless.

Please don't do it: I carefully select photos I like using all 100 available slots for them not only to be able to group photos I like but also to give this shots more exposure on the main page.

I think I'm not alone with that here :-)
