Some possibilities:

1. Have a separate site where members could display some of their photos from TE displayed without critiques/comments/forums. It would simply be an online gallery for viewing only. This might be useful for those who want to show others their photos, but without any comments etc.

2. Have a separate site comprised of 'selected' members to display 'approved' photos from TE. This is similiar to what I did on TrekJapan.com, where future members were selected only with a majority approval of current members. After seeing what Magnum Photos was about, I think something similiar could be done based on current TE members. This would be sort of a 'best of' TE photos site. Again, there would be no critiquing/forums on this site, as all this would be done on the main TE site.

These are some of the ideas I thought up, and it would be easy to implement since the images and database info could be shared among sites. Photo selling could be implemented onto any or all of these sites.

I would like to suggest something Adam...Why don't you organise a Photo Library, something like Magnum Photos, based strictely on business base? Something completely different than TE. There each phtographer who wants to sell his/her photos on the International Market could participate. Ofcourse for this site-library we are talking about high quality slides or digital photos. I think it is a great potential for a project like this. How about this idea?

I'm not sure I understand. Can you elaborate? I'd like to keep it organized based on location, but there are many possibilities.

Who determines what is 'high quality' or not?

I am talking about a photo agency not just a site on the Inet...The determination of the photos should be done by a photo editor, who in this ocassion should be you or a team of photo editors as it is happening on photo agencies Adam...Potential clients i.e magagines, publishers, etc. always demands high quality slides (most of them) and high quality digital images.
What is needed is a lot of work and well organisation which it is proven that you can handle:-)

Well, I think my initial idea would be perfect for this: Future members are nominated and approved by current members. Posted photos also must be approved by current members (some percentage).
