Did you all know that Adam makes no money off this site (yet, though who wouldn't want to make this into a full time job?), and maintains everything in mornings, lunch breaks, evenings and weekends... while working full time!!! Is that self-less devotion or what? Not only does he maintain the site but he gives lots of great critiques... wow! What a super guy!

Bonjour Cedar,

I don't always agree with you... ;-) But today I completely do!!!
I admire Adam's work and I'll "yell" with you: "Wow! What a super guy is Adam!"

I am new here, but already I see all the hard work Adam puts in to keep this site up and running. As a former "Webmaster" for an internet site that was similar in concept (but different interest), I am painfully aware of the work it takes to keep a site current and clean.

One of the things that makes this site so attractive is the complete lack of crass commercialism and the things that go along with it (annoying popups as an example). I know this will need to change as the site grows and that Adam will more than deserve the finacial support he may gain.

My hat is off to Adam...

I agree. I've seen this site evolve extremely well, and adapt quickly to increased membership and user input. I'm consistently impressed with how clean and professional the site is built, considering it has all come from the brain and hard work of one guy.

I won't blame Adam if he adds something to his site to make it profitable for him, as long as the core content remains the same. In the meantime, compensate Adam for his hard work by telling your friends about TrekEarth!

I also have to congratulate Adam for his talent. I know a website is hard to maintain. I'm in charge of a part of a wabsite and we had to deal with commercial because the webmaster pays everythng, but would'nt do it too long time because it's expensive and take time. Congratulation again Adam...

Thanks everyone for your kind words, I of course appreciate it greatly. A couple of points:

-I want to thank all those who contribute thoughtful critiques and workshop postings, as this is what makes the site so interesting and useful to many others, including myself. Of course viewing the many engaging photos is great as well.

-I despise pop-ups with a passion, there will never be pop-ups here.

-As membership and participation grow, I will attempt to find some kind of sponsorship to support the site.

I'll also take the opportunity to express my gratitude. The idea of TE is a great good one and it is very, very well run website.

I, for one, have learned an immense amount about photography from giving/recieving crit's and more importantly; I've learned a great deal about our beloved planet and its inhabitants.

Thanks Adam!

I would second the praise of everyone else for Adam and his stellar abilites. As a webmaster, newsletter editor, board of director and acting secretary of a non-profit wildlife foundation I can fully relate.
If it comes down to some sort of financial help, I can be counted on as I think we all want to keep this site as genuine as it is now- money is always hard to come by for most.
Let's keep enjoying...

yep if one day adam need some financial help i'm sure we could set up a kind of paypal fund raising option on the page so members can contribute...

i think it's very important to support website like this one who are realy here to show and promote art and not just to make money !
