Hi Mark,

An easy way to make borders in PS is using the 'Canvas Size' option:
Before making the border, you'll have to select the color you want to use for your frame. For example if you want your frame to be black, select black as your background color. After that, just click on "Image", then choose "Canvas Size..." and fill in the number of pixels you want. For example, if you want a frame with a 30 pixels width, add 60 pixels to width and 60 pixels to height. Like you see, for a width of 30 pixels you have to add 60 pixels, because those are divided int 30 pixels on the left side and 30 pixels on the right side. It's the same for the height. You can play with different colors etc, to obtain other frames (I make my frames the same way). After that you can add text if you like or your name or whatever... :)

Hope this helps. Feel free to ask me more if you don't understand how to do it.

Greetings,
Thomas
