I few great shots in there, but some that I thought weren't very good at all (especially #3) Overall, I wasn't terribly impressed.

they are a bit over saturated and contrasted.

those pictures depict a cruel reality in a very dramatic and realistic way, and that's why they won the Pulitzer price, they tell a story... What those migrants go through in pursuit of their dreams of a better life in the US is real, and tragic, and painful... In this case they have a happy ending, but what the pictures don't show are the tragic results of those who fall from the train... I know more than a few horror stories.. it's real!! The pulitzer price is not just for the "quality" of the pictures, but for the story they tell... For me those pictures brought tears to my eyes... in my book, those pictures are powerfull.. they tell a story all too real...

I agree with gbeneke. These photos tell a powerful story. The photographer deserves the prize, not just based on technique, but for the story too. And for daring. Look at photo#9 and think what's going to happen to the photographer a split second after taking the shot...
I also agree they are very powerful, but the scans themselves do seem a bit over-saturated, contrasty as sita4ram mentioned.
