Is there still a relatively non touristically unexploited sea resort , village worthwhile to visit even in August when hordes of us locust that coast ? We thought about Ilica , but i, m afraid it will be expensive and overcrowded ? What about destinations not far from Izmir ? Are there interesting beaches and little villages near Bodrum ? Is it cheap and worths making a daytrip from there to Samos , Kos or Chios ? I'm afraid all Turkey is a jewel but the time (days) we dispose is not too much and that West coast is too large (we almost discard Marmaris , Kas for the little time we will have and the distances ). So we ask for any tip , piece of advice ,opinion ...

Thanks in advance

I could suggest you Yahsi (at the Bodrum peninsula).
The hotels are rather small, most have 20-50 rooms. In most cases, the food at the restaurant is Turkish (because most of the guests are Turks from Istanbul, Ankara, ... and also Turks who live abroad) - but of course it is also possible to order fries, pizza,...

Bodrum with the shopping facilities and the nightlife is easily to reach by minibus. The market (bazaar) of Ortakent-Yahsi municipality (on Wednesday) is authentic, and you can see the locals selling and buying their products.
There are also one-day boat trips to other beaches around the peninsula offered, and minibusses are cheap - so you could visit the (still authentic) villages in the middle of the peninsula.

If you search for photos of the places I suggested, just check out my "Turkey" - photos.

Hope this was helpful.
