this is a copy of my post @ thorntree.lonelyplanet.com (too much to type again)

-------
a bit of research for something I`m writing so if you could please be kind enough to be of some use ;)

How many photolabs in your area (either the city you live in or general area) use digital equipment? Perhaps even the type: Fuji Frontiers, Agfa D-Labs, Noritsu....?
How many have the equipment necessary to transfer files from memory cards to CDs (this is probably more widespread)??

Could you also specify what city/area you`re talking about so that it`s not just numbers. You can also tell me about your travel experience.

Over here in Ljubljana (slovenia) I know of 4 and a few other "possibles" (chainstore labs etc).
I`m completely sure that one has the Agfa D-Lab 3 (coz I`m working on it - it`as across the street from the train station ;) and one other has a Frontier. I think the other two use a Frontier and a Noritsu, I have no idea what others use.

mem card to CD ----I guess there`s about 50% chance that any photolab can perform this operation

In Paris I only saw two digital labs (both very centraly located, southern side of Seine if anyone is searching for them). One had a frontier, don`t know about the second.

ok, that`s about it....thank you for any info

-------

now it`s you turn. If you want to see the results at TT go to phones, computers and cameras branch (direct links don`t work). This info should also be useful to anyone trying to find a digital lab while traveling.
