I was able to upload one photo and received two critiques saying the photo was too small. Is there a way to make photo uploads larger and stll conform to the 200 kb size restrictions? I tried uploading a photo that was 200kb and it was a jpeg . I keep getting an error message says thw site only accepts jpegs.

I am assuming that your pictures are larger than 800 pixels (width and height) to begin with.

1. Resize the picture so that the largest dimension is 800 pixels.
2. Save as .jpg, change the quality setting so that the size lies between 150k and 200k.

The quality for this will be different for different pictures depending on how much detail is in the picture, some pictures will hit 200k at a relatively low quality settings while some others won't get to 200k almost no matter how high you set it.

How to change the quality setting is different in different programs, sometimes you need to click a settings button in the save dialoge, sometimes there is a slider or an input field available directly.

Hope this helps.

I am not sure why you got this problem, but it is possible that a file is called .jpg even though it is another format. It depends on how you save, you must make sure that you select filetype jpg or jpeg, just naming the file picture.jpg is not enough.

Already explained how to do this in an earlier thread, so:
