Hi,

Well I going to China in August and I trully don't know what to expect. Could You give me any advices what should I take? What is not allowed there? May I just do photos of what I want and whom I want?
Any advices will be welcomed :)

Refrain from shooting people in uniforms (at least to closely) and do not photograph anything military, also including China immigration lobby.
Apart from that have fun enjoying China and taking nice photos to share with us here.

- Like in the US, you will not see the presence of its military too exposed like in Vietnam. That's why where you see the military atmosphere somewhere, you should treat the location with your full "defense", because it is really <b>national defense</b> in their eyes.

- There are exception (of course!):

* You are free to photograph the military personnel standing guard at <b><a href="http://www.trekearth.com/gallery/Asia/China/photo124323.htm">Tienanmen Square</a></b>.
* You are <u>not</u> allowed to photograph inside <b><a href="http://www.china.org.cn/english/features/atam/115650.htm">The Thirteen Ming Tombs</a></b> in north of Beijing. When I was there in mid-2004, they even scanned photo equipment for security purpose, and reminded us "photography not allowed".

Have a happy trip. Make sure to spend sometime in evening food market near Wang Fu Jing area.
