points system

Hi there,
I am new to the site so really just finding my way around the site. Just a couple of questions,whats this points system at the side of each image,who awards them?

How does this workshop work?

Please refer to "About" and "FAQ! it is well explained. But in short the viewers award them, when you click on a yellow face = 0, a pale green smiley it's 1 point and a big smiley =2.
For workshop, if you enable Workshop in your account, people may suggest modifications to a photo with Photoshop. To do that they will click on the Workshop button at the left upper section of the screen and post an altered version of your photo.

Could you give a brief description on 'how to' post an altered version of a photo as I have many times tried and I just think my brain needs to be re-wired. It's the basic concept I fault at, ex. How do I get a photo I would like to alter into my editing program. I'm missing out on a big part of Trek earth as I have never understood how to navigate this area.

Right click on the picture you wish to edit and click "Save Picture As" - you should then be asked where to put it! I tend to save to my desktop.

Edit the picture in Photoshop or whatever, and save it - remember to make sure the size both pixels and Kb are within the limits (more than 250 pixels wide, less than 800. Below 200Kb)

Open the original picture page in TrekEarth, and click on "Post to Workshop". Some people don't have this enabled, so there's not much you can do then...
