I edit photos in photoshop and then look at them in internet explorer and the colors are significantly different. Can anyone help me fix this?

You're using monitor colour profiles aren't you... I noticed this myself, and have decided to remove the profile from my Display Settings - since it seemed to be causing image artifacting.
As a matter of interest, what monitor are you using?
I have the same problem sometimes as well. I'm using a trinitron..

Basically colour management is not pervasive in Windows (at least not under Win2K), some applications (like Photoshop) support it, others (like IE) don't. My advice? Ditch the profile, and then setup your monitor so you can see all the different grey patches on the DPReview reviews. Doesn't help with colour balance, but most LCD displays at least have a colour balance setting, so just as long as it's set correctly everything should be reasonable.
Not sure how this affects printing though!

I do believe that I'm using a monitor color profile. I have a Sony Trinitron.
However, I should have been more clear. I don't think that it can be a problem with the monitor.
If I open a photo concurrently in photoshop and IE I can see that the colors are very different between the two windows. In this particular example the sky is very blue in photoshop and rather purple in IE.

That makes much more sense. I've deleted the profile and now my sky is purple in both windows - which is probably a step in the right direction.
