There is now a new site available based on the TE code, TrekLens (<a href="http://www.treklens.com">www.treklens.com</a>), which will have a more open terms of service compared to TrekEarth. This means it will be ok to post pet, family/friends, studio, and more heavily post-processed images to this new site.

I hope this will allow TE to continue to maintain its original mission of <i>learning about the world through photography</i>, while still offering a place to display other types of photos.

Note that there is an option to link one's account on both TE (TrekEarth) and TL (TrekLens) if one's member name is the same on both sites.

I look forward to your thoughtful participation on either or both sites!

Hi Adam,

Thanks for all your work on this and the TrekLens site.

How can I link my TrekEarth account with my TrekLens account?

Log in. Then go To profiles, Just above where the Intro box is, is an option:

"Link TrekEarth and TrekLens accounts?" Just click in the "Yes" box and Click Update and its done.

When you look in the right hand corner, just to the right of you username is TL or TE, a link to you TrekEarth account (if you are on TrekLens) or TrekEarth account (if you are on TrekLens).

You have to do this process from the account on both sites, TE and TL.

Hope this was useful. Thanks to adam for continuing to improve this great Site.

Andrew

Thank you Adam for the TL!

This is now a great opportunity for all of us to show everyone else what we can do with our cameras apart from taking photographs to introduce various places to the members.

Looking forward to learning more from this new site as well!

All the best and happy snapping to everyone,

Robi

PS. Is it allowed to move some photos from one site to another?

Sounds like a great idea to have a link, but I'm going nuts trying to find it. I can't even find a profiles section!

Hi

Just log in, then click your username in the top right corner. Then just click on profiles which will appear just underneath your username in the top right hand corner when the new page loads. Then just follow my steps above.

Hope this was helpful

Andrew

Thanks! I've got the two linked. For now, the sites are too much the same except for the political differences. Perhaps TL will eventually be sorted by category, process or equipment as location is much less relevant.

i just joined both trekearth and treklens today and i love it! i found TE first and was wondering what some of the shots had to do with travel, even though they are all great. i think i'm going to have fun and learn a lot with these two sites! -lj
