Hi Cesar
What about the maximum size file for sending each photo ? 1Mo , 2 Mo ... ?
Thank's for your answer.
Didi.

At first many thanks for your interest in our dear project!

We have to consider that the pictures would be printed so the maximum res. the better. If a photo would be a full page print, the resolution needs to be higher. I guess a minimum of 2MP, I would say better 3.2MP. But I am not an expert on this issue.

I would request support from Jack who is an expert on this matter. He would add more info regarding the sizes.

Please check the site for updated info!.

Any questions will be welcome! Do not hesitate to check the project site and be in touch.

About the book layout some quick comments!

a.) I’m a graphic designer and I believe I can help on that matter.
b.) I think that photographic data such as camera info, Exposure, etc should be mentioned because deep down it’s a book about photography!
c.) I saw the sample images on the layout. The one with the roofs and the other on the second page (green) need color correction!!
d.) Also the black line around the photo shouldn’t be leave white space in-between!
e.) The descriptions of the two small photos on the first page are far down from each photo they represent.

The separations and prepress methods should be known before converting each photo to CMYK color profile.

Also some sharpening should be done on the resized images to be clear on the printed page because four/color printing is less sharp than dye sublimation printing the photography bureau have!

Can I please participate in the book with any of my photographs?

Best regards
Dimitris

Perhaps one of you should read a story about doing your own private photo book (which means paying out of your own pocket). Some great tips for you guys to consider. Here is the link:

Cheers and good luck!

Its been a LONG time since we submited photos. I would love to change some of the photos I would submit. How would I go about doing that?

I submitted my photos when the project first started. What else can I do? I would have liked to be included in this project. I have written MANY e-mails offering my assistance in this project, but I have never received a reply. I still think this is a worthy project but if my photos are not up to par - just let me know. If you don't need or want my assistance - let me know. Like I said before, I have a lot of free time to offer for this project; I am just waiting to hear a response...One way or the other........

I totally agree with Rafal. I prefer my last posts than the one i gave for the project. I suppose it would be a lot of work to change all the pics, but in case this would be possible, I would be quite interested in it.
Thanks

As responsible for web solutions connected with the book project, we are right now in full swing with preparing the final touch of an uploading tool.

We want to secure all routines to this to safeguard each photo and photographer as far as we can.

Kikvel the team leader have finished some exams and there have also been work checking out some legals matters.

Hopefully the process start up again very soon

The emailadress i filled in on the questionnaire will soon be void. But to apply for upload permission (through the project site), i need to enter the emailadress that i also filled in on the questionnaire, but I wont be able to read the replies.

Is it possible to use my new email adress on the application form or will things go wrong? What is the best way to mention my new email adress?

Thanks!

I don't know if you are interested, but I have self publsihed three photography books - one for the Olympic Winter Games (80 photographers), one on food and wine (4 photographers) and the other on the City of Vancouver (40 photographers). I was involved in corporate fundraising, photo edititing, design and layout, marketing and distribution.

I would be willing to put some time into the project if you require any futher assistance.

You can contact me at patrick@dvpix.ca
