    Hi Luis
Tastefully composed image and wealth of architectural beauty set off by clean blue sky. I love the elaborate artistry of the church roof that easily grabs the attention producing a vivid impression on the sight or the mind. Totally a well defined shot with good human presence. Great work, Congrats

    Hi Jean
fresh paint always looks good, and I like the smell of paint too, but not everybody does :)

your pov of the cabins work out well, gives a good depth to the scene, and a repetitive pattern.

    Hi Bulent
i like your newest post, but i still look back at this one.

and having said that, i think i enjoyed your note about Captain Cook even MORE! I'm not sure if I just forgot or what, but to hear he was boiled in a cauldron is quite astonishing to say the least! yikes! Lets hope he was already dead, but i'm guessing he was alive at the time?????

and imagine living in that day and age where you didn't even have proof of the world from the pov we do now. Setting out on a journey to find out if New Zealand was connected to another landmass, what a world that must have been. And imagine showing them THEN, a picture of the world from space as we know it today...oh the looks on their faces!!!!!

I wonder what the next 500 years will hold? What information will they have that WE don't have today? Perhaps they will look at us as how we look at Captain Cook :)

Its all about perspective i guess.

the photo you took is sweet, real, and innocent, wouldn't change anything.
    cheers

    Hi Ally
Must be a popular sight judging by the throng of people there and plenty of reds, but they boost liveliness, leading to the impressive traditional architecture. Delicious to look and great control of highlights definitely an eye popping stuff worth sharing. Lovely capture, Congrats

    Hi Jean
always a fun shot to take right?
and yeah, perhaps the time of year you went here wasn't the best, but I bet there was fewer people around.

still a pleasing scene no matter how you look at it, its almost impossible to take a bad shot from Venice haha.

    Hi Paul
haha, one of my favorite places to visit in Chile! Too bad I did a bus tour here, sigh....we didn't get to see enough of the city, we had planned to go back but we just didn't have the time.

its known for its hills and roughness, and we can see this here in lots of detail. love the lower fg with the rustic homes. Perfect depiction of the city

    Hello Daniel,

The light coming across the street lights up your f/g very expressively, detailing the individual stones as well as the thick pointing and the brightly coloured roof tiles.
The gap is perfectly placed to lead us downwards into the lower regions of the city to get a more general feel for the streets and the packed houses.

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

    Merhaba Mesut,

This is a stunning piece of art and you have captured it remarkably well, showing every little detail if the raised mosaic, in excellent, natural colours.
    I love such items!

I will be in the museum of Manchester tomorrow.
I wish there were items like this, there!

    Hello Serge,

THis is a splendid place for interesting photography, with yachts moored in the marina, tall harbourside houses and the massive, imposing walls making such a strong b/g.
You chose the perfect point for composition to get the very best effect.

    My warm regards,

    Hello Paul,

This is a photograph which has extremely strong contrasts, for the f/g is vibrant and detailed, whilst the b/g appears to be layers of blue mist, growing ever fainter. It is easy to follow the coastline in your photograph and peruse the details along the way>

I found it so interesting that you changed your itinerary along the way. Not many people would have had the flexibility or the confidence to do that! Well done!

    My warm regards,

    Hola Luis,

What a stunning building, you have shown us, here!
It is sharply exposed so that the details of the architecture and the shields are wonderfully clear.
I like how it is slightly angled so that, although it is the focal building, it does guide towards the interesting details of the secondary buildings.
The light was just great for this shot!!

    Hello Denis,

Close cropped scenes, with strong textures and shapes are both attractive and effective.
I applaud your viewpoint, where the tilted hulls create a channel through which the third boat becomes visible, creating a fine sense of depth and completing the triangle.

These summer colours are so bright and what interesting geometric patterns they make from the upper viewpoint. The textures add to the patterning!

    Hello Ike,

What a great place to holiday!
The marina and the colourful buildings make an eye-catching setting!

I like how the diverging lines offer two different approaches to the scene. I'm sure most viewers will have followed the r/h approach as there are people to guide and an uninterrupted edge from f/g to b/g. However, the l/h way sees a most interesting focal point in the mushroom shaped mooring bollard.
Lots to see and lots to enjoy.

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)
