    Hello Andy,
I love your portfolio of pictures and good that you are posting again. Hope to see lots more! This picture has that graphic simplicity that I love in photos. The man is perfectly placed in the frame and nothing in the image distracts. Excellent observation and a high quality picture.

    Hi Craig,

This is a stunningly attractive shot which is made so by your clever use of an ultra wide lens which has enhanced the perspective and given that glorious "explosive" look to the clouds in the sky; by the lovely light, and, of course, by the inclusion of some people!

Glorious light and colours, a fine composition and exquisite details and sharpness - which can only be appreciated when this picture is viewed at its "proper" size.

A fine note too - yes, no wonder that Lisa loves this place so much!

    Beautiful!

    Kind Regards,

    John.

    Hello Bev,

I knew that Brian would love these! They're actually quite pretty little boxes too - and not bad for eight quid considering they're being sold in a tourist shop. Just the sort of thing to have on a mantelpiece where you can keep all those old buttons, drawing pins and that sort of junk you can never find a place for.

This is a lovely picture and very well taken using just available light indoors. Presumably it was quite a bright and airy shop but your picture is well composed, nicely including the warning sign - which, I assume, should really be read as "Drop one of these on the floor and break it - and you pay for it."!

    Lovely!

    Kind Regards,

    John.

    Hello Ann,

An interesting historical note about dreadful times in Cambodia, of Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge, but a fine photograph of Phnom Penh in the happier present day.

I giggled when I read Gert's comments that it would be difficult to find a 'bus in Cambodia which had windows clear enough to be able to take a photograph - but you have certainly succeeded here to produce a wonderfully colourful and appealing picture of everday life in this capital city.

You have actually been quite fortunate because the large canopy overhanging the front of this shop has dimmed the light very nicely in the upper part of your frame and allowed the monks' clothing and yellow umbrellas to stand out beautifully as they are more brightly lit.

Your composition is excellent too. Just the two monks gazing into a shop would have been good enough, but the inclusion of the motorcyclist dressed in miliary garb and looking at them adds much more interest.

Lovely soft light, fine vibrant colours, spot-on exposure and exquisite details and sharpness.

    Fabulous!

    Kind Regards,

    John.

    Ciao cara Lisa,

Lovely to see you back and with a very fine photograph and also a very poignant note. Like Brian, I have little knowledge of Australian politics but your note has certainly given me insight into some of the problems affecting your country at the moment. I have, incidentally, just spent the last few minutes checking out Gough Whitlam on Wikipedia and he was obviously a very radical and controversial leader, loved by many but also despised by not a few. But I, of course, am in no position to be able to voice an opinion either way.

But this is a very striking photograph, the innocent happy smile of the girl contrasting so well with the roughly written placards and the pushchairs in the background. It works extremely well in black and white too where the strong tones and contrasts add well to the theme. And technically perfect as always.

    Excellent!

    Kind Regards,

    John.

    Hi Kasia
Upstairs Downstairs equals to Worlds Apart! - It's smartly observed and time triggered that tells its own story in just one frame. With you behind the camera and each one seems to be in their own little world oblivious to all around them! Very nice fun image :) more sunshine and glorious colours and that striking red and stark black certainly make this pic stand out. A productive lens works! Congrats and tfs.

A poignant message and there's just something about those Words leaving the viewer with questions and the background information adds to the work. The photograph itself works in B&W and the two do go together as they are both communication. Great piece of journalistic photography, good capture. Congrats

Ciao cara. I was away in Iran when we read about our beloved Gough. I cannot believe that he did not get a state funeral. Did thousands turn up anyhow? What has happened to Australia, have we sunk that low? How many young Australians know about the light that shone over our land while Gough was the leader. Now, I feel I am stepping in cow s..t which is all around me and the biggest s..thead is our current leader. As a former teacher I cringe at the spelling of gates. Wonder if it was an affectation imposed by an adult to make the sign more endearing. Anyway, nice shot and a powerful message. Best wishes. Klaudio.

    Ciao dear Brenda

I really like the minimalism of this. The reflections, the way you composed the shot, make it all very ethereal and atmospheric. The lady in the far corners and the shadow she throws are quite symbolic. There is also an excellent graphism to the image. Nice work. Hope you've been well.

    Cheers
