    Bonjour cher Serge

It is the light, aswell as the countryside that changes when Spring arrives. I love how everything is so lumimous in this shot. The colours are brighter, more vivid and eye-catching. A delightful scene once again, one that fills me with a bit of envy as we turn into winter.

hehehe, I'd have been tempted to ask if they wanted to buy me. A funny and characteristic Australian scene. I really love that quirky sense of humour people from the country seem to have here. You captured it nicely.

I see green. Green everywhere, and one little red dot. The umbrella on the bridge which is a nice contrast to the cooler colours. You did really well with the grey skies here and dull light here. Beautiful reflections and wonderful vibrant green colours despite the light difficulties. A charming place and a delightful photo.

    Ciao dear Noel

I never knew you'd escaped your Soggy Rock to travel in Texas! And you met our mate Russ, which makes it even more fun. What a great job you must have (when nasty people aren't yelling at you, that is). This statue is such a Noelesque photo, I knew it was yours even in the thumbnail. I truly thought it was in Ireland. Seems that there's a little bit of Ireland in Texas! Excellent structure, sharpness, definition and play of light and shade. Also, the statue makes me a little sad. I know it's a memorial so that's probably the intention, but yeah, it's very sobering.

Cheers and I hope your weekend is getting better,

    Dear Les

As soon as I saw the old car, I thought, "John (Tyro) would love this" - and sure enough reading his critique, it seems he does. I love it too, even though I'm not a lover of cars. It seems as if it could have been taken a hundred years ago, the untouched landscape gives nothing away and certainly the old car doesn't. Excellent choice the B&W making the image timeless, aswell as accentuating the fascinating structure and contrasts of the image. Excellent work, thanks for sharing.

    Hugs to you both

    Ciao caro Giovanni

I didn't see snow until I was 30 years of age. So your description of your daily winter activities is quite a wake-up call for me. The concept of having to drag yourself out of bed in sub-zero temperatures, perhaps unfreezing the water pipes in order to have a shower and then having to dig your way out of your home in order to get to work, makes me marvel at how you Far-Northern Hemi types survived at all. One piece of advice Kev gave me was to never eat the yellow snow. I hope you do the same. Anyway, an interesting daily life photo, with interesting bluish hues, a magnetic perspective and of course, your poor model digging away. A far cry from sunny Spain, I'd imagine.

    Un abbraccio

    Dear Mics

An idyllic beach with the powder-blue limpid water and the beautiful mountains in the background. The angle of the outrigger was beautifully composed and I love the soft, natural colours. Many would have been tempted to over-saturate or over-contrast. I'm glad you resisted. One thing I would have altered slightly is making a larger foreground and less sky, that way composing the shot using the rule of thirds, rather than a half-sky, half-water combination, thus focusing on the beautiful boat and sea.

Warmest wishes, lovely to see you posting again

    Cara Ourania

As Carluccio has written, a painting within a painting, a window within a window. I love the minimalism, the warm Grecian light and of course the incandescent red tones contrasting with the perfectly-exposed whites. A lovely, simple image, well-seen and extremely well-realised. Something that would not be out of place on a wall in my office, to remind me why it is we all work so hard :)

    Hola querido Manu

Wow, what a beautiful castle, straight out of the fairy tales. And so beautifully captured with superb sharpness and eye-popping colours. I love this Spanish light, it is quite different to the light I have seen in other countries, difficult to control, but very rewarding when it is managed properly, as it has been here. Well done, and thank you for your note, which makes me want to see so much more of Spain than I have already seen.

So you've been in Italy? You are blessed. And what better place than La Serenissima, Venice? You chose a great angle at which to show the perspective and lay-out of the cloisters. You also managed the light and shade extremes very well. Thanks for sharing this delightful place with us.

Hey where's your Canon 5D gone? I can certainly see the difference between the 2 camera. Maybe you were after a lighter camera in your travels? Anyway, still beautiful landscape, but (as with my own compact camera) I can't help but notice the difference in sharpness. Love the golden reflections on the water.

    Bonjour cher Didi

A beautiful POV of this enchanting and fascinating old church. I know in Ireland, they remove the roof from the church in order to avoid paying land tax. I wonder if that's the same reason in France? Beautiful crisp light and colours, a very nice composition.
