    Hello Will,
This is a fascinating picture and note. It reminds me of stories from visitors to the Ukrainian town that was abandoned after the Chernobyl disaster. Sad stories in both cases, but this photo is very interesting with the many old time posters and signs inside. It's a pity it's "closed". It would be intereting to find out if the telephone was actually still working.
    Kind regards,
    Gert

    Hello John,
This is a fine picture. The weather was dull and the colours are plain, which only makes this a very realistic and natural photo from northern Europe in very early spring. The ruins create an interesting backdrop to the view of the hikers about to cross the tiny bridge, walking along the path going diagonally across the composition. Fresh air was no doubt guaranteed that day.
    Kind regards,

    Hello Patrick,
The "Khmer rouge" are fortunately gone and instead we have the "Khmer orange". This is a pleasant portrait of a woman wearing what I recall as a very typical Cambodian style hat, although the colour seems less common. The light is very good and she gave you a shy "almost smile".

    Hello Kamila,
At first glance I almost thought you were still in China. This riverfront would not be totally unlike the one in Shanghai, or at least what that looked like a couple of decades ago before the skyscrapers dwarfed the colonial style buildings. This brief spell of sunshine created a fabulous light which was enhanced by the contrast with the black clouds.

    Helo Leslie,
A fine composition with a foreground so distinctly separate from the rest that it is almost like two pictures in one. The sculptures of animals are quite nice and orginal, but my favourite part of the photo is no doubt the magnificent post office with its interesting architecture and fine colours which you captured well with this perfect exposure.
I don't suppose that there are anywhere any monuments to the Tasmanian aboriginals, who were also made extinct in a fairly short time afer the arrival of Europeans?
    Kind regards,
    Gert

    Hello Ana,
Another very pleasant composition. It makes me think of paintings by Monet or Renoir or some other impressionist master. I think it's the few red dots of poppies that do the trick. It was a very well observed moment in the daily life of this elderly woman.
    Kind regrds,

    Hello Silvio,
A magnificent tower standing on an impressive rock. There are lots of fine grey tones matching the green tones very beautifully. You have chosen a good POV and exposed this well with great clarity and fine colours.

    Hello Romano,
This is an interesting piece of architecture, and it would indeed have been a disgrace if such a building had not been attractive. If I come back to Rome sometime I would definitely have to come here. Especially I like the fine reflections in the glass wall leaning downwards. This is another well exposed photo with strong and vivid colours.

    Hello Brenda,
This is a wonderful building and it's amazing to learn that a campaign was needed to save it. That must seem strange for anyone seeing it today. Also in Stockholm the local politicians were crazy about pulling down fine old buildings in the 1950's and 60's. Sometimes they were quicker than the public opinion, other times such houses were saved. In New York the yellow cabs can brighten any street view, as they do here, and you used that overhanging branch nicely. I also like the mild and well exposed light.
    Kind regards,
    Gert

    Hello Abmdsudi,
It's a great human quality to be able to look so happy and cheerful even when living such a tough life for such a small reward. Maybe it's a matter of mental survival to keep desperation and sadness at a distance at any time. You took a sincere and touching close portrait of this charming young woman and her friendly eyes. Vietnam is certainly one of the friendliest countries I have seen.

    Hello Malgo,
Three terrific views and fine photos, this one no doubt being the most attractive. The large version proves the good sharpness and fine exposure. Going 250 km one way just for seeing one place still sounds like a very long detour. I guess you found it worth the time and effort.

Although I don't actually feel the smell I can easily imagine it. The colours and shapes of these different kinds of bread make them look tempting enough. You used them well for a fine foreground with the colourful stall making a perfect background.

    Hello Eleu,
This is a perfect but almost hair-raising POV. I am used to seeing these paragliders from a safer place on the ground. It looks like a very exciting activity but I am pretty sure I will never try it. I like the inclusion of three small figures on the beach and the smooth tones of blue, grey and light brown.

    Hello Mikio,
I like the mild colours of this photo which was probably taken on a cloudy day. There are very fine tones of grey and light brown found on the ground, in the trees and also in the persons' clothes. I also like the calm and quiet atmosphere among the children playing. You composed this very well from a slight distance and it is also a perfectly exposed photo.

    Hello Pavle,
This is an original and attractive composition with an exciting atmosphere of late evening. I love the warm yellow light spread from the street lamps, so much nicer than the white light from the signs. I also find the complicated assembly of wires hanging from the lamp-post quite interesting. This is a well exposed photo with plenty of fine details.

    Hello Nicolas,
Only the duck is not upside down. Most pictures of reflections are flipped over to look puzzling, so it is quite unusual to see one as natural and straightforward as this. The duck is swimming calmly forward, caring little about the reflections.
