    Hi Craig,

Hee, hee, I hope you weren't thinking of me when you wrote your title - mine are well tucked in, thank you very much. :-)

Geez, these guys certainly knew how to build - I can't imagine many modern buildings lasting over eight centuries, never mind withstanding an onslaught by cannon fire.

The light here is magnificent and lights up this wonderful cathedral beautifully against the dark sky with its puffy white clouds as well as bringing out all the lovely colours and textures in the ancient stonework.

Gorgeous light and colours and, as always, stunning details and sharpness.

    Beautiful!

    Kind Regards,

    John.

P.S. Could the cannon ball be between the two largest windows - I think I see what looks like a rusty mark running down from it?

The ultra wide angle lens creates a strong picture. The church seems to be very massive.

    Hello Dear Constantino,

This is a very modern bridge and makes a superb focal image to lead into the photograph or vice versa! It looks so strong, so imposing, as it struts across the gulf, linking together the land and the sky!

    Have a great day,
    Bev :-)

    Ciao Caro Luciano,

This sounds like my sort of a place; mysterious, beautiful, filled with history and legends that have been passed down over generations!

It is quite amazing in the true sense of the adjective.
    I love your w/s, too.
It could have made an individual post because of its fine composition, its details and its subject matter.

    Have a great day,
    Bev :-)

    Hi Daniel
if you can't find a tall narrow street, you'll find a tall narrow building :)

really enjoy this composition with the stark contrasting forms and geometry from the left side to the right side.

all one same color though, thats the only similarity between the two. Dynamic shot
    cheers

    Hello Jean,

It's great to go to places like Cornwall as there are many NT properties to visit. Here, in Lancashire there are about 3 in the whole, large county!

This is a beautiful house, full of period charm and with a garden that immediately brings to mind ... 'How many kinds of wild flowers grow in an English country garden! ...
I really like how you have included the garden for it is all part of the beautiful setting. You have created good leads to guide us inwards and included a well positioned figure to add human interest.

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

    Hello John,

    The sea looks wild!
How good that you have captured its temperament in a still photograph! There is a wonderful dynamism from the waves as they explode on the f/g rocks. I almost ducked when I opened your photograph!
Bass looks a lonely place and perhaps difficult to access at certain times of the year! In your photograph, it is very well placed, looking totally isolated in the vast expanse of water!

    Have a great day,
    Bev :-)
John, I'm asking for some of your expertise. I added my last photograph to the wrong TE meeting and can't delete it. Any ideas?

    Hi Costantino
I think you've posted this bridge before, but i don't mind at all!

you could post them several times and i'm alright with that.

reading your note, i think the only people who don't like the bridge are the Ferry boat owners who loose money! haha

love the large clouds too, they add alot to the scene.

    Hi Ryszard
its easy to see why this is probably the most photographed bridge in Wroclaw.

I spent some time here photographing it as well.

you captured it in a very attractive dimmed light, and there's even a hint of rosey reds in the sky on the left.

    cheers

    Hi JJ
I really do enjoy these cut and crop architecture shots, take little pieces of the buildings to form a collage.

and its nice to have the large light fixtures in the scene too, to break up the pattern of the timber homes.
    excellent shot
    cheers

I hope those people are not thinking about jumping into that water below are they?
seems like there are plenty of rocks that would stop their descent!

nice of Carlo to take you around and show you some of the sights!

But too bad the sight you really wanted to see was not here at the time.

    Hi Gert
as much as I would be in a photographers heaven shooting an abandoned shipwreck, I would think this would be the equivilant for you :)

and no, it would have been better to leave the children in the scene, thats obvious :)

lots of colors, lots of light, lots of innocent children making the scene brighter than the sunlight ever could.

    cheers

    Hello Gert,

Most certainly not! Those brightly dressed children, all "following the leader" and full of excitement setting off on their excursion, add colour and interest and a very fine foreground to your photograph of this beautifully preserved town which appears refreshingly devoid of both motor cars and advertising slogans.

A beautifully clear and sunny day compared to your previous "aerial" view of this place, showing off the clean and tidy square with its pristine and colourful buildings. Lovely light and colours, perfect exposure and stunning details and clarity.

Two excellent workshop pictures from this place too and, as always, a fine note.

    Lovely!

    Kind Regards,

    John.

wow, i wouldn't have even seen the lighthouse if i didn't read your note!

see John...THIS, is what i want to see when we visit scotland. we want to drive around, see the coastlines. Of course we want to see the cities, see some lochs, but also these scenes.

really enjoyed reading the history of that island, it must have been quite the prison!

lovely shot with the waves cascading over the rocks.
    hard to beat this one
