you have captured the blue and the brightness of Paxos (and Corfu) very well. I like your tight framing and the colours of the waterfront.

    Hello John,
great capture. Decisive indeed. Love his comical expression, not so sure about the groin close up! That knife looks like it is heading to spear him in the nose though -phew. Good dof.

Just had a look at TE. I might come here one or twice a year... And I saw your 10 years anniversary photo. 10 years?! In this world of fleeting moments, where we surf from one social media to the other, it speaks volumes.
    So... let me congratulate you.
I hope you are happy and that life is good with you...

    Hello Gert,
you have provided an interesting note to a well observed scene. I like the composition with so much blank canvas at the top. I can sympathise with this couple as I recently spent time in the Lake District tourist honeypot town of Ambleside and village of Hawkshead (famous for its association with the children's author and Illustrator Beatrice Potter). I think the Japanese must have a particular fascination for her as they represented many of the tourists there. Tourist kept piling out of the coaches and filling the tea rooms (of which there were many). It was difficult to get a feel for the Hawkshead of old.

    Hello Claude,
I enjoy your eye for street photography. Finding interesting juxtapositions of posters and people is one of your talents. This is good compositionally as the plain blue at the bottom half is a good bg for the seated man. He is perfectly placed and as a comic expression on his face. Like all good street shots it leaves us to guess or make up a story -what is he reacting to on his mobile phone?

    Hello Trevor,
I'm sorry that I missed this one. The dancing couple made me smile although I guess he's swinging her around (giving her a twizz as we used to say as children).Whatever they are up to they have attracted the attention of the other holidaymakers. This couple are placed to anchor the image. I like that the line of the pier and the tourist boat are on the same parallel.

    Hello Rosemary,
this is a beautiful image. Love its luminosity and that big cloud filled sky. Nicely composed making use of a cypress to mark the thirds line. We can trace the line of the lane in the wayside trees and lie of the land. I like the little wild wayside flowers in the fg and the way the sunlight picks them out.

    Hello Ann,
the first word that came into my head when I spotted this as a thumbnail was undulating, then I saw that you had used that description in your notes. Lovely play here of light and shade. And that light is softly luminous. I also like the layered effect created by the lines of trees and of course the undulations.

    Hello Christiane,
A well composed picture with good dof. Depth of field has been helped by the layers of rock, water and trees on the far bank. Nice colours although perhaps the trees seem a little over saturated. I do like the soft colours of the fg rocks and the turquoise blue of the water.

    Hello Gladys,
this is a lovely scene. I love the warm, buttery, hazy light. I took a similar shot across a Yorkshire valley last year and this makes me want to go back there again. Perhaps I should visit Devon too, it's been a long time since I was last there. This works well compositionally as the diagonal lines of the field hedges offer a dynamism not obviously present in such a tranquil scene. The light fg fields (what is that?) help with dof.

    Hello Abmdsudi,
This is a fast for the eyes (as well as the palate). A very satisfying composition of colour, form and pattern. The coconut counter crouches in just the right place for an excellent composition. I like the way the fg comprises of whole coconuts and further away of half coconuts with their milky white flesh showing. But what is the blue in the fg? Whatever it is it adds so much to this fab image.
PS This one I have added to my favourites.

    Hello Eugene,
this is so vibrant! Love the colours and patterns of fabric and bracelets. This feels so real because of the sharpness, almost three dimensional, so much so that it feels quite intimate, a portrait without a face but somehow we know we would like this face if we saw it. He's likely to have smiley eyes.
