    Hi Noel,

I knew I had missed many of your pictures since heading off to Russia, and as I started going back through your gallery this evening I about punched myself in the face for not catching this one until now. As previously mentioned, I believe this has also become my favorite castle, and is on the top of my castle hunting list for when I do make it over for a visit!

And as it relates to your comments today, and forgive me for wishing any inclement weather upon you, but it would sure be a treat to see this under the cover of some snow. :)

In the same token though, this is a stunning view under the bright light of that big warm globe known as the sun. What a fantastic setting from the edges of the shore, making the visual all the more dramatic and impressive. Easy to understand the allure, photographic or otherwise. Those ruined walls may have the appearance of a hillbillies chipped teeth from this distance and viewpoint, but what a beauty they are! :) Have a good one. Happy Halloween!

    Cheers from sun soaked Az.,

    Jason

    Hi Ourania,

A beautiful scene along the harbour which could easily have been taken any time of the year, but your title certainly puts a twist on the perceived visual. Because of that "suggestion," there does feel to be a melancholy vibe which falls over this scene.

I have the impression that if I stare at this picture long enough, the light will slowly fade out and we won't see anything of this nature until next year. In a few simple words, you've managed to set a very intriguing tone over the imagery presented....or perhaps it's only my strange imagination at work!? :) Either way, it works! Have a great day ahead. All the best.

    Friendly wishes,

    Jason

    Hi José,

Isn't it amazing that you can have the exact same composition as the previous shot, but a completely different result by the simple virtue of this lady's posture and glance towards your camera?

Her standing position and curious regard make an instant connect with us, the viewers, where as the first picture was more of a contemplative and aesthetic result.

Both pictures hold the same technical qualities of course, rich in color and atmosphere...but seemingly worlds apart in human emotion. Bravo, once again! Have a great day ahead. All the best.

    Hi Lars,

What a super presentation, an imaginative and fun way to put a new twist on nature. :) Clever title too! What's really great about this is the fact we can clearly make out and understand the animal itself from the distinctive stripes, but there's just enough distortion from the waters surface to render this as more of an abstract and fascinating visual. Smartly observed and well executed! Enjoy the new day ahead. All the best.

    Hi Ike,

I've had some family members that recently returned from a cruise through this area, and after viewing their pictures, I was influenced to take another look at yours. :)

For its age, the image quality has stood the test of time...and of course now being digital, will be around forever. lol

The warm glow from the sun paints this rock in a whole new way, still attractive regardless...but this special light sets it apart with atmosphere and even a touch of ambiance. For being pretty much just a big rock, it sure is visually appealing thought, right? :) Enjoy the new day. Take good care.

    Friendly wishes,

    Jason

    Salut Cricri,

Ahaha, with all of the attention going towards the boats and detail of the fountain, the sleeping man may have gone unnoticed without your note and title. :) Now that he has become an integral part of the image, I can't help but search him out! lol

A nice touch of humor to accompany this lovely close-up of the activity and textures in the fountain. Can't balme the guy either, this is a great place for a nap! Enjoy the new day ahead. All the best.

    Hey there MPI,

Thanks for the laughs today! :)

What a quaint little church, all cozy and snuggled up in the landscape like this. I would almost be enticed to actually attend if it were in this type of setting....but, as it stands....I'm lazy and there's probably a game on somewhere that will re-direct my attention. I hope there are t.v.'s in hell!? lol

A superb image befitting the Autumn season, full of rustic colors and fresh greens. Geez, am I describing a salad?? So unlike me...where's the beef, I ask?!! (There ya' go, that one's all tee'd up for you. :P)

This church seems so small, how on earth could it be covered with 11oo paintings...my word, ancient grafitti?? O.K., I'd better stop before it becomes too sacrilegious and I really do end up in eternal damnation....or is that already a foregone conclusion? :o

Colors, clarity and detail shine as always...another classy result mate. Have a good one. Take it easy.

    Cheers from the dark side,

    The Emporer

As an avid fan of cherries, I have a sister that would absolutely love this...and although I may not share the same passion, I certainly enjoy this picture just as much. You've certainly met the requirements of the "red" theme. :) I may not want to eat them, but I would enjoy taking the same picture with this subject. Clear, concise and rich with red.....an appetizing, photo. :) Enjoy the rest of the day. Take care.

    Hi Miro,

That black billowing smoke is a real attention grabber, it has a dramatic impact on the senses...I alsmost feel choked, even from a safe distance. :) What really catches my eye more than anything though are the touches of red color in contrast, from the locomotive itself. Your use of HDR works rather well here to create these strong effects. In fact, it brings out a lot of good detail in the blacks...something that may have otherwise gone unnoticed. I'm sure this must have been quite a sight in person, not something we see all that often in these days. Smart composition too, dragging the rail line into the bottom left corner for additional perspective. Well done! Enjoy the new day ahead. All the best.

    Friendly wishes,

    Jason
