    Hello Eleu,
You composed this very nicely with great graphical quialities. The slightly leaning white cross and the white letters balance and match each other well. Similarly there is a good contrast between the yellowish foreground and the reddish hillside. Everything basking in the sun shining brightly from a clear blue sky. The cross reminds us of those who perished here during their hard work of mining the silver.

    Hello Craig,
The woman isn't quite 1960, but it would have been a great pity to clone her away just for the sake of timelessness :-). It's a fine panoramic kind of shot, and from this distance I really enjoy the old cars, because they play a role as additional colors more than being close studies of cars, if you see what I mean. The way you describe the food situation in Havana I fear the city wouldn't really suit me after all. I am very dependant on getting proper food at regular times, unfortunately. I see you are preparing a trip to India. There you will have no problems finding food whenever and wherever you wish. It may be a good idea to eat a lot of vegetarian dishes. Usually cheaper, tastier and safer.
    Cheers,
    Gert

    Hello John,
In the upper left corner there is actually a room with a view. ;-) Most of this tower must have been very dark and gloomy and probably very smoky. Not a very healthy place to live. Or perhaps people didn't actually live here unless there were raids or wars going on (which seems to have been the order of the day a few hundred years ago). Watching the compactness of these walls from this low angle I get the impression it must have been an almost impenetrable place. It's a terrific choice of POV and the excellent sharpness and light management make it a pleasure watching this.
    Kind regards,
    Gert

The same trick again but the result and effect is quite different. The pattern is fascinating and the contrasts of orange, grey and black is terrific. This is very well done.

    Hello Rosemary,
I love the clarity and fine light of this photo as well as the green bronze of the statue and the sandstone colour of the cathedral. You have captured the texture of the materials superbly. The statue is very expressive and this is underscored by the low POV.

This is a fine building. It may be old and battered, with the paint peeling, but there are lovely details and the texture of the wood is well captured. The two wheels leaning on the wall are beautiful details.

    Hej Trevor,
Detta är en fin komposition i en vacker gråskala. Du fann en vacker blandning av gamla gravstenar, ett keltiskt kors, en ruin och ett kyrktorn. Det är en stämningsfull och vacker bild.

    Hello Leslie,
I don't know if you have a special talent for making stormy skies look amazing or if the weather conditions at Dartmoor are significantly different from those in other areas. Somehow you manage to capture a lot of these marvellous skies with dramatic clouds and dramatic rays of the sun. Finding an expressive tree and a fine slab or two must be a combination of talent and good luck. This is an impressive photo with a very well handled light.
    Kind regards,

I like the glance the "blue" woman is giving you. It's a brief moment, but you captured it perfectly. Did you whistle at her or call her to make her look back? :-) I also like the contrast of the blue and yellow shirts and the light blue background of the sea.

    Hello Jason,
Honestly, a cloudy sky can produce just as good light as a sunny day. I like the very fine, mild tones of this photo and also the lack of crowds. Yes, really, too many people can obscure the view, but a couple of persons on the doorsteps are always nice to see.

    Hello Piotr,
I regret that I only spent less than a day in Lodz this year. I realized the city was worth much more. This photo may not tell us so much about Lodz, but it's a very attractive picture with beautifully handled play of light and shadows. It's very well exposed and it has created a fine atmosphere.

    Hello Bev,
Actually, I thought thatched cottages were quintessentially a tradition of southern Sweden and the island of Gotland :-). But they still wouldn't look like this. I agree that this is very English. And whatever it is, it's a beautiful house which may be hiding an equally nice garden behind the hedges and the over-ambitious dog. In any case it was a lovely day with a superb light and beautiful colours.
    Kind regards,

    Hello Ourania,
This is a very pleasant photo with so many things to watch. I like the fact that the game looks so informal and unorganized. There seems to be as many colours of the shirts as there are players. If anyone gets tired of watching the kids play there is a beautiful view of the windmills or the hillside. And at this time of the year you still have a lovely sunshine, which is now rare in my part of Europe, where the days are getting darker and duller all the time.

    Hello Kasia,
Now, how on earth could anyone get the idea to call this Love Valley?
I was here in 1970. There were no balloons, no English names for the valleys, not even any tourists at all, just me and my friend going by taxi along the dusty roads.
On the other hand I didn't get any photo as brilliant as this. The view is stunning and the early morning light and colours are beautiful. In a way I think one single balloon in the distance has a greater impact than a crowd of balloons.
    Kind regards,
    Gert
