    Hello Brenda,
What a very special building this is. It looks like a great number of small huts stacked on top of each other. I think the people living near the top should be careful when walking close to the outer wall, or the entire building could collapse. Can you get a grand piano up there, and where can you safely put it? It's a fantastic, weird building which makes me smile, and this photo really underscores its unique style. The light blue against the darker blue is stunning. I actually quite like the brown building in the foreground too. I guess it represents a more common style in this area.
    Kind regards,
    Gert

    Hello Ourania,
The sea is remarkably dark blue, save for a few smaller areas where we see the drawn out reflections of the houses in the village. The curve of the hill is lined with small clouds that could perhaps have caused very local showers. It could have been nice to see the frustrated anglers or the lady with her daughter, but you decided to show this very picturesque view with the intense colours and the bright light shining on the hill, and that is quite all right with me.
    Kind regards,
    Gert

    Hello John,
That day was not perfect for photography but the not so nice weather doesn't hide the impressive architecture of the 19th century theatre. I rather like the design of the other building too. A few red spots somewhat brighten the view. Sharpness and exposure are as good as ever.

    Hello Luis,
A nice street view from a city I don't know as well as I should. Maybe it's time for me to go back soon. These buildings are very elegant and there is a fantastic light on its façades. The pleasant composition shows the street on a diagonal with nice clouds filling the upper left corner.

    Hello May,
I have seen many shocking but eye-catching photos of the hard working men here, so this is a refreshingly different composition. The baskets are very nicely lined up on a diagonal. They are attractive to watch and they provide a perfect lead into the composition. When my eyes follow the baskets they inevitably end up at the large green volcano in the background. The photo is well composed and has a narrow but very attractive range of colours and a fine hazy light.
    Kind regards,
    Gert

    Hello Bev,
My first impression was that you had desaturated the colours, just leaving a little bit before going b&w. Then I thought you would have mentioned it in the note, if this had been the case, so I guess this is the natural light and the natural colours. I like the grayish appearance, which suits the dominance of metal details well. The jetty, the railings and the masts have created a rather intricate and very attractive pattern. Maybe the lack of flashy, bright colours is actually the greatest asset of the photo.
    Kind regards,
    Gert

    Hello Malgo,
There is much more fresh air in this photo than in the interiors, also a nice fresh light. For being nothing special it is a very good composition with nice boats on this side of the river, some less interesting buildings on the other side, a nice bridge and very nice smoke rising from the chimney. I also like the waves created by the small boat. It is not the usual postcard view, which makes this quite special to me. ;-)
    Kind regards,
    Gert

    Hello György,
There is nothing more special than daily life, especially when it concerns a man on a bike connecting with a distant church tower along a narrow street. A good PP work like this comes as a bonus.

    Hello Jorge,
Like Malgo I try to stay away from groups. I always want to do things on my own and following my own directions, but I know some places are hard to reach unless you have your own car, so there is not much choice. At least the other tourists add life and colours, but this composition would have been good also without them. The tree is nicely inserted and the paths go on fine diagonals. The view of the ruins is well balanced by the distant mountain.
    Kind regards,
    Gert

    Hello Ryszard,
I think this kind of old looking ship is always popular for taking tourists on short cruises. They also look nice on photos, and in this case the photo is well complemented with the two large rocks. The photo has an appealing simplicity and very good colours.

With the limited light you have managed a photo of amazingly good quality. It's well exposed and sharp and the coloured lamps above the stage make it very eye-catching. I love the effect of the rain drops falling through the green light.

    Hello Craig,
It's nice to hear you are better. I always get a vaccine against the flu every autumn because I really don't want to catch it.
I am one of those who always look at the larger versions because they reveal so many more details. This is the kind of architectural photos I like the most, maybe just because I always find it interesting to watch places from above. Photos like this also get an artistic quality of certain kinds of modern art (!) where the roofs and walls are almost reduced to an abstract pattern of colours and shapes. And those roof gardens look like great places for an evening drink in summer.
    Best wishes,
    Gert

    Hi Serghei,
it's easy to feel small in environments like this, surrounded by skyscrapers and traffic jam:) It's refreshing to see a shot from NYC from a different place than the usual tourist places.
It's strange, but no matter where you are in this city there is almost always a yellow cab in sight. You have taken a good shot from the tram, of an almost endless avenue, tfs!

very impressive water spray! I remember this when I was here for many years ago, it was visible from a long distance! I can also remember that Geneva was a very expensive city :) This is a good shot of the water-jet where we can see parts of the city and boats in the foreground. Tfs!
