    Hello Ann,
This should be among the most colorful photos of the day. I imagine this to be a fairly dark alley, so you handled the light very well. Basically I would probably enjoy these paintings (as long as I don't find them on the house where I live, and not in my backyard), it's just a pity that the whole street is so full of garbage and that the graffiti artists don't seem to respect each others' work very much. Apart from the junk I like the photo.
    Kind regards,
    Gert

    Hello Denis

You were standing on the Ponte de le Guglie, from where I too have taken pictures (though no posts from this point!) As ever, it's the light that makes the image. And of course the clouds too.

    Hello Paul,
Three more fascinating photos from the abandoned industries of the desert. In this one I like the brightness and the strong tones of blue, red/brown and dark grey. The distinct shapes of the dilapidated installations make them quite impressive and they must have been even more so when the work was still going on. The WS #2 has such "pure" lines and details that it looks like an art installation just as much as an industrial installation.
    Kind regards,
    Gert

    Hello Craig

What I don't understand is where the road goes when it reaches the cliffs at the top of the climb! Never mind: this is a sublime landscape, which really conveys the feel of the place. I'd maybe want to see some sky above the mountain on the left... But who am I to complain when you've hiked so far to capture your fine photograph?

    Hello Betty

I love the low-key treatment and the monochrome conversion (but then I'm a bit of a fan of b/w!) Also the use of negative space around the focal point really works well. Congratulations!

    Hello Craig,
Who would even dare to overlook a picture with a title like that? It's good for you that this really is worth a good look, not least for the colours. The grayish green and brown tones are superb. The crowded conditions in summer sound quite horrible. Doesn't sound ideal for an experience of well preserved nature. Still, it must have been a disappointment not to meet any living soul at all, not even a bison or an elk.
    Best wishes,
    Gert

    Hello John,
It's a pity there was no newly married couple on the bridge that day, but maybe it was too cold for someone in a thin white dress. Luckily there are some persons walking down the road on the other side. It's a very nice composition of the fine wooden bridge and some strangely leaning trees. The shadows make the view of the bridge more lively. The light and colours are as always excellent.
    Kind regards,
    Gert

    Hello Andrew,
To my mind it's the unexpected things people do in the streets, and under piers, that make the most interesting photos possible. Your skilled eyes spotted these girls cleverly and found an amusing photo. The details of the pier and the boats in the background create further charm to the picture.
    Best regards,

It's nice to see you back. I thought you were the latest one to leave the site.
This is a smart composition with a very well framed picture inside the picture. I like the slightly more intense colours of the mirror view. The black and white details have a fine graphic effect.

    Hello Murat,
Since there was no great personal disaster involved this was just a fire to be enjoyed. The flames are quite beautiful and match the well placed yellow "cat" nicely. The black smoke makes a fine contrast to the white ground. A bit of drama on the way to work saved the day, and you found a title that was suitable and personally nostalgic.
    Kind regards,
    Gert

    Hi Pierre
this photo was taken in 1970! I wonder how it looks now a few decades later...have you been back here?
looks like a very windy day here, but still has lots of sweet views and makes us want to relax on the beach.
I also like the two tones of blue.
    enjoy your day

    Hi Serge
so, does France have a town or city thats NOT photogenic!
its unbelievable how many charming places there are in this country - and you've found another one here.

I like how it seems to be nestled into the woods and into the hillsides. Almost like the towns in Italy :)

sweet composition and dimmed lighting, i like this one alot

    Hello Rob,
In every tourist hot spot in every major city there seems to be a place like this, where all tourists just have to take the same kind of photo, which of course always inspires me to take photos of them taking photos of themselves. It's a never ending story, but often produces some amusing shots, like this one. It's colourful and full of joy and laughter and with a piece of Amsterdam architecture in the background. I could probably have taken an identical photo if I had been there.

    Hello György,
This is a rather strange looking place, not like anywhere I would expect to find a bus. But the mysterious details catch my attention, apart from the man who is well placed and who really stands out thanks to the strong contrasts you created. You continue to give us interesting photos without caring much for whet the majority would like. You should feel proud of that.
