    Hello Jorge,

The hanging branches are key to putting this image into perspective. There is a tranquil quality achieved in the well-composed photo. I like it very much.

Warm regards, and have a good weekend,

    Bonjour Jean Claude,

Such a beautiful mirror-like water, producing two photographs for the price of one. Bare trees are so much more effective sometimes than full foliage, then would have obscured the architecture. Warm regards,

    Hello Jean,

For me, the most interesting aspect of the shot is the immense swings of tides the British Iles represent. This is clearly low tide, and I can see a man with either a child or a dog strolling along the beach, which in six hours will be under water. The man sunning could also be under water. I wonder what that red circular object is? Is that floating ring, a sign...

    Regards,

    Sevgili Meseut,

I like very much your gallery of ancient doors. After 400 years this one shows its wear, and still functions to keep a secure entry/exit. I think it belongs more than any other photo into the collection Old Doors

    Hello Danos,

A photo evocative of Venice and Brugge, but from Ulm. This is the city that Albert Einstein was born in, and it would be a pleasure to see it in person. I like the way you have integrated your name and date on the docks.

    Hello Rob,

This is a perfect(ly unappetizing) and (un)appealing image of the matronly woman having a rich meal... sugar, sugar, and more sugar. Malgorzata had shared a photo from the exhibition, "Swimmers for Zwemmer." For a moment I thought this woman was from Positano, and here it turns out it's from my backyard.

    Hello May,

There is an unusual and appealing coloration, perhaps because of fluorescent lights. I like the atmosphere very much in this "Canard and Champagne." It's interesting that the covered arcades are disappearing in Paris. There are a few in Istanbul inspired by those old covered arcades. In the United States we are bracing for the Inauguration tomorrow wondering whether common sense will ever return... here and in the rest of the world).
    Warm regards.

Shades of silver and blue shimmer so dramatically in this shot following the rain. Sometimes you really do get the best light conditions after a rain has purified the air.

    Hello Jorge,

This is the new normal. In a book I am writing I spoke about the 9.3 million tourists each year to the Mona Lisa. They go in, and take their places, in front of the painting. Then they turn their back to the painting and shoot "a selfie." It's a statement that they were there. These children are having a good time.

    Hello Krzysztof,

The colors of spring... the early autumn colors along with the red tile roofs create a complementary scene. Presented as a panorama was a wise choice. The viewer of the photo "feels" the expression of being there.

    Hello Gert,

For a photo you don't remember taking, it is a work of art. The exotic setting, the two you women shopping for fruit, and the man... all set against the wet pavement. It could be more effective only with the sounds and smells of the setting. A future generation will no doubt see it that way. As a photo it is one of your best.

    Hello Lars,

In July of 2014 when you took this photo, I was in Japan at a considerably different scene, listening to drums and watching a festival (I just posted). Indeed, tomorrow is the day of the Inauguration and we are all headed into it divided... The TV is on behind me for a concert from the Lincoln Memorial in advance of tomorrow's event. Let us hope for the better. This is is a gorgeous shot of the Capital, perfectly symmetric in perspective. As for your question, "What would have happened if it had been Mr Underwood who had run for President against Mr. Trump?" He too would have been steamrolled by Mr. Trump.

    Warm regards,
