This is a very fine and original composition. I like it very much. Showing these people from behind was a good idea. We don't need to see their faces. Their arms around each other give us a lot more information of the situation and the atmosphere. They appear to be a rather odd couple, which only makes them more attractive. The two pairs of legs seen further away inform us perfectly of what we are looking at. I also like the brownish tone which gives the photo a somewhat old time atmosphere and for some reason makes me think of working class entertainment. I guess I am influenced by British movies from the 60's.
Kind regards,
Gert |

I read the Greek alphabet, but since I don't know a word of it I still can't help you ;-).
I like this picture anyway from the colours and obscure messages and the well placed woman.
(As regards the comparisons with Turkey I don't agree that it has been a theocracy for ten years. The present government has modernized, democratized and developed Turkey more than any government in the history of that nation. Unfortunately the Prime minister seems to have lost all senses in recent years. Too much power is always dangerous).
Best regards,

This is an unusual place for an orchestra, but the slightly oval shape of the group is very nice to watch and gives the view fine depth. There are lots of nice details and the photo is very suitably cropped.

More rosy cheeks and more stunning colours. The brightness of the red, pink and orange headdresses is enhanced by the dark background. I like the direct eye-contact with the woman in the middle.
I know that when taking this kind of pictures you can never be in full control of the situation. The woman we see from behind stepped inside the frame a bit unfortunately. It could have been an option to crop the left third, but then we would have lost the fascinating face of the other woman to the left. A hard decision.
Kind regards,
Gert |

There is a fascinating contrast between the people crossing the street in the midnight darkness and the bright lights from the building behind them. It is a very well exposed photo with a good atmosphere. The workshop photos are also excellent and informative.
Kind regards,

The light is fascinating in this picture, possibly enhanced by the dark clouds and the dark background. The white pillars get a dramatuc look from the contrast with the darkness behind. The yellow flowers brighten the foreground. Overall this is a lovely view.

In a few years , the pretty little barn will fall in ruins , and the walls of terraces will disapear under the wild vegetation . Agriculture is hard in the mountains ...
A splendid view , especially at this period of the year , with the yellow blossom .
Thanks for the share . |

A different picture , as you say . And I like it a lot , especially for the colors of the leave , and teh contrast with the BG . The little green branches in the FG are a nice feature of the composition .

hard to think its that old and still standing.
great textures, light and subject for TE.

you love narrow spaces don't you! haha
you enjoy taking photos in the tall vertical showing narrow subjects...this one is no different.
I like how you squeezed everything into the frame, and having that bit of blue really makes it pop for contrast.
sharp and clear too.
smart looking subject

First of all, thanks for your critique of my photo...its much appreciated.
I just HAD to check this one out too. What a beauty eh? lol truly Canadian :)
even though the Cadillac in the fg isn't a classic old car, it seems to fit the overall feel of the scene perfectly.
and the choice to go monochrome was superb, I wonder how it looked in color...but i'm glad you posted this one as the atmosphere comes through well.
splendid

nonetheless, its a great cultural post for TE, especially when reading the note below.

you executed exactly what you wanted.
