    Hi Alexandre
well I can honestly say i've never seen this place before, its all new to me.

as for Christopher Columbus, its funny how we grew up learning about him in elementary school - but only when you're an adult you learn about how ruthless and destructive he was to other cultures. that was the norm for people like him back then, explore new lands and if the people do not want to come home with you as slaves then you kill them. They didn't really teach THAT part of his exploration!

lovely photograph though, very unique, something new to my eyes

    Hi Rob
its always fun to capture these water reflection scenes isn't it :)

what I like about this one is how its all broken up, and it looks like droplets of Oil in water in how in separates.
funky color combinations too. its a good one!

    Hi Claude
its great to see you posting new photos again :)
this is certainly one where we have to stare into the eyes of another person.
there are reflections EVERYWHERE if we just keep our eyes open for them.

nice addition in having the underside of the hat showing off the circular rings, that helps too.
    see you around

    Hi Ryszard
when i think of Switzerland, Castles don't exactly come to mind right away - but i'm sure they have their fare share of them too.

its very interesting to hear how Castles like this have changed hands and changed functions over the years. Funny how it can be at one point a Prison, yet on the other hand it can be the comfortable Home for a Family - think about that for a moment.

your shot really shows off the Castles Girth and strong outer walls, looks VERY large from here.
glad you posted it, i learned alot even from your note.

    Hi Jean
the sky may be a little bit hazy, but honestly who the heck cares! when you have a rounded oval bay like this in that color, thats the star of the show.

nice to see the beach too and how it wraps around the frame.
must to a sweet spot to spend the day. lovely point of view to capture it

    Hi Halgeir
I chose this one from your gallery because I like how the front of the ship creates that 3D like visual effect.
and the black rubber tires make a strong impact as well, especially against the red. excellent point of view to make it look this way

    Hi Denis
hmmm....which photo to pick from your gallery? there are so many beautiful ones to choose from :)

I went with this one because I enjoy the green and blue color contrasts, and also the way the mountains form that V shape with the water in the middle.

amazing scenery in the South of France. Pin sharp, clear, bright and colourful, excellent exposure too

haha...this is right up my photographic alley :)
see, its fun to photograph abandoned buildings right?
what makes it work well though, is having the contrast of the new modern building beside it, otherwise it just wouldn't have the same impact. clear and bright presentation

yes, to not have much in the way of rain in Norway is very lucky indeed! :) Good for you.

I wish I had more time to spend in Norway, then I would have visited such places as this.

well, i guess an umbrella really does work to block off the sun doesn't it, we can tell clearly how effective it is.
and you're right, the shorter girl seems to be in admiration or something, whatever the case may be she has a wonderful facial expression going on.

    Hi John
this is beautiful, very beautiful, especially for an indoor Church/Cathedral photo.

looking at it, I like how we can see subjects from the left all the way to the right - the frame is completely full from side to side.

the stone is very crisp and sharp too, so many details to view. well done with the overall exposure.

    Hi Brenda
funny to hear that this is the highest point in Central Park!

and of course, reading your note, i've learned another cool points - for example I would never have guessed it was built in 1869, I would have guessed it was WAY newer than that.

there HAD to be a tourist holding a selfie stick! must be hundreds of those people around NYC everyday.

another interesting learning experience from your gallery :)
    nice one

and although it was looking rather simple on the inside, that doesn't matter. When you can go IN, it just makes the experience that much better and more fulfilled.

wow, I don't think i've seen this before on TE, or anywhere to be honest.

its always impressive to see how rock carvers and engravers can do such intricate designs. I wonder how long it takes, and what happens if they make a mistake?

    Hi Dale
what I loved most about Scotland and Ireland, was how you could just simply drive around and spot these old castles and ruins all over the place. They're basically everywhere if you look closely.

this shot you took here seems to fit into that category as well. Is it just me, or does it have windows?

the view of it is excellent, the short rock wall adds a bit of culture and history too. love the subject!!
