    Hi Ney
    awesome shot.
what's not to like about this one!
not only do the mountains stand out well, but the clouds do too. the clouds are hugging the mountains all the way across.
Wish I could see this place in person.
    great shot

    Hi Piotr
gotta love the wide angle lens right!
I never leave home without it haha

the sky and clouds make a strong visual impression, as do the stone on the ground, it looks quite vast.

the orange colour on the left stands out too.
well done with the exposure settings.

    Hi Robert
I think I mentioned to you before that I grew up in Newfoundland and Ottawa, now i'm living out in Vancouver.
Here out west, we just don't get to see such winter atmospheres unless we go up into the mountain areas.

This reminds me of being a kid again living in cold winter conditions and I love it.
    clean and crisp air
    cheers

    Hi Angel
this would certainly be a place i'd like to check out for myself some time.
I know that the lighting was difficult, but who cares, its a natural wonder of Mother Nature.
interesting subjects, thanks for sharing it.

    Hi Ike
imagine this photo without the attractive lighting, it just wouldn't be the same. The lighting is bright and yellow, warm and invites us in. I've taken many photos of such statues with dull light and they suck!
    not this one.
    enjoy your day

    Hi Noel
interesting to hear you say the church is quite bland and boring on the inside and outside - I wouldn't have thought that by how it looks here.
obviously its an attractive photo with the lighting and reflections.

    PS
I laughed out loud with your comment about finding a model in the woods in my latest post - that was funny dude!

just imagine the history here, its remarkable.
glad you included a bit of the rooftop, it has so much rustic texture, it totally complements the entire scene.
even the lines on the ground look great, giving a neat visual effect. cool shot my friend

I just had to take the time to view this one again.
if you ever wanted to see a charming little village or town, this has to be it.

    Hi Bev
    lovely shot.
I bet these are priced rather high, especially because there are so few of them as well.
the scene has a real rustic feel and mood to it, the large rocky beach helps with that, as does the unpredictable weather conditions. Despite that, it seems rather quite and peaceful, even romantic perhaps? haha

    Hi Gert
So you made it all that way but you couldn't make it to the top top! Oh Gert! haha...just razzing you, you made it most of the way and it sounds hard!

India amazes me for its poor sanitation and living conditions, yet they build such masterpieces like this Temple..if you think about it, its quite strange!!!

Love your story, love your WS's, and of course we see a pile or two of feces in your India shot - now THAT's India. lol
    gotta love it!

    fun shot for sure.
the scene has alot of depth, the boats seem to go on for infinity as if we're looking at some landscape scenery.
and brooding clouds add alot of atmosphere and depth as well.
excellent clarity and colours, the lighting worked out well for you too.

now this is another one of those interesting Japanese festivals, hard to imagine participating in one of these :)
I have a question....how DO you get to participate in them? Do you have to sign up? is there a limit? Is there preparation involved?

wonderful capture of human emotion, this is what you're best at. Too bad you can't photograph them this year though.

    nothing better than this right?
these old historic towns and cities are just begging for photographers to spend time here.

    Hi Marisuz
Edinburgh! A city which I want to see and to explore.
Interesting story and history with the name of the Hotel, I like to live a much more simple sort of lifestyle :)

seems like the Family life is really making an impact on your photography, you mention it alot in most of your notes.
Family comes first right! and now i'm sure the subjects of your photo shoots change as well.

cool post as you look UP, even in this harsh lighting it looks fine. See you around!
    Cheers
