    Hi John
wow, I want to write you a note before this photo gets taken OFF by the mods! haha...i hope not!

congrats on 10 years, and actually, congrats on writing such a fine note. I was smiling the entire time, well done.

So that's you eh? thats awesome John, you look so casual just strolling through the field, looking all cool, you could be walking down any city street for all we know. In fact you're walking through an area most of us will never get to see - thats something worthy of feeling proud about.

I have to admit, when I see your Greenland shots, I very much want to visit here. Do you know if its become a little touristy here now? of I wonder if its still got that rugged outback nature feel to it. This is such a sweet view as you're encased in mountains all around you. I like that your gaze is off to the side too.

Must have been hard to spend this time here without being able to watch Family Guy! lol

10 out of 10 John, Keep it going
    cheers

    Hi Malgo
yes, I"m glad you mentioned it, I don't think I would have recognized the Castle if you didn't.

as a cloud lover, this one suits the scene perfectly don't you think? it adds another horizontal layer to go along with the green line and the orange/yellow lines spread across the frame.

all in all it makes for a very pleasing visual. something different for sure

    Hi Jorge
of yes, this brings back alot of memories!
driving past these large trucks on the hwy with only an inch to spare on either side going 100 km\hr..yikes!

I have to hand it to the locals though, they know how to dress up their trucks, its a cultural theme for sure. You would never see such things here in Canada.
    fun shot

    Hi Kasia
how on earth did I miss this one in your gallery?
glad I happened to stumble on it now.

so you had a 10 hour layover, did you stress out time-wise when you were in the city, fearful of not getting back to the airport in time? Because once you leave the gate, you then have to re-check in and go through security ALL OVER AGAIN right? that would suck, but the benefit is you get to explore the city a bit.

and looking at your WS photos, you certainly had the right idea to get creative and try some panning. Love the WS photo's of the engines, I never knew they were that large!

the final result of this main post is kind of haunting, but in a good way. love the rainbow of colours and the streaking visual effect. awesome!
    cheers

    Hi Chris
excellent shot, even the small buildings way off into the bg look very sharp and well defined.
the orange rooftops dominate the scene, other than the blue waters of course.

bright, colourful, sharp, clear, its got it all. and the speedboat provides some fun action to the scene.

hmmmm....when I think of canals like this, Greece doesn't really come to mind right away.

We don't get to see canals from this country on TE, so this is a bonus for sure.

and it looks like another sweet day in Greek Paradise with this weather too. Lots of bright light, the blues and greens come alive in the warmth of the day.

we don't get to see many wooden covered bridges anymore, they seem to be going extinct like the dinosaurs.

I like the way the lighting strikes the middle portions of the frame, and the river its a beautiful addition to the nature scene. love that bridge the most though.

first of all, congrats on reaching 600 posts, only 400 more to go for that huge milestone haha. I'm sure you'll get there.
I've always enjoyed viewing your shots, so lets hope you do reach 1000.

you know what i like about this one right away? the tiles on the ground, they look like a checkers board game :)

another focal point for me is the colourful flag in its red white and blue.

great to have the clouds in the bg and the vertical compo works well too. lovely shot

    Hi Krzysztof
Malta seems to have a huge rise in tourists lately, its become a very popular spot.

I can clearly remember walking these streets, just as you have done here.

its actually hard to photograph in such lighting conditions, the sky and light can be very hard to control and easy to overexpose. your shot looks great. lots of blue and the yellow/white buildings look fine too. thanks for this one

so this is a medieval mansion? I'd love to get a look on the inside. Did you go in?

it almost looks like an old barn or something :)

interesting how you're father is posting shots of NYC, while you're still posting from Canada :)

we can tell how strong the light was here, a bit harsh in this mid daylight - but what can you do right?

having never been here myself, I just love seeing the street life, and how the city is laid out.
certainly a different perspective here, and its a good one.
there is alot packed into the scene, lots of visual interest.

    Hi Rob
yes, an interesting point made about the wire to protect people from jumping. The Golden Gate bridge in SF has no such protective wire, and its the #1 bridge in the world for committing suicide. In fact, along the bridge deck are signs telling people to call for help if you're depressed, and there are phones available on the bridge itself.

I like how you placed the ESB in the middle of your shot, and I like the W shaped crosses and how the metal all gets entangled with each other. fun shot

what the heck happened to the rest of the lighthouse! haha
this has to be the shortest lighthouse I have ever seen :)

But I guess it still has its primary function.
its nice to see the clouds in the bg, they provide alot of depth, as do the mountains.

the lighting is A+, and i enjoy the calm atmosphere with the lady looking outwards into the sea. lovely shot

yeah, selfies are the rage aren't they, but like everything else i'm sure in time that will fade away - or at least I hope so.

sad to hear that now that lake is polluted, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

Looking at your shot here, i can only imagine how busy with people it would be today. I'm sure during the day time hours its quite hectic.

looks hard to get a good angle and pov, so i certainly take that into account here. always fun to re-live these trips from years past, and we get to share that with you too.

love this abandoned building. so its an old clothing store, I wonder if there are still old manequins and old clothes inside, too bad you can't get in to take a look :)

you were recently in Malta???? thats fantastic, I was there not too long ago as well. I'm looking forward to viewing all of your photos from there, and i'm curious to know where and what you visited.

here we have a slim wide angle shot with 2 tones of blue, I like that, especially the royal blue along the bottom. Too bad there aren't any clouds to add, but thats not your fault.
