Recognizable and famous building (also thanks
to the publicity of History Channel). Picture
has a high quality and the blue hour give is
a nice extra. An option (not an improvement)
is to cut a piece of sky, than you will have
a nice panaorama-photo.

HK airport is great for photos like this. I have one looking up from one of those comfortable beds they have everywhere :)
I love the textures that your post processing has brought out. There's a real 3 dimensional sense to the shot. Excellent perspective and symmetry. A well-conceived shot.
Great job

You're getting very arty farty in your old age aren't ya? :). I like it, like the post processing and the tight framing. Looks like yourself and She of the Burra Clan have been out one the prowl at your favourite cafe.
Cheers, I'm back now from freezing Melbourne, lurve your work

This is a very dynamic and luminous image. I love how all those elements are packed so tightly in the frame. The colours are incandescent and there is a wonderful sense of movement here - both from the inclusion of the people and the moving water.

What a minimalistic and very compelling image. I love the pastel colours. You did so well to leave them in their wonderful softness rather than over saturating. Well done, a subtle, peaceful and atmospheric shot.

I saw this on FB and was wowed by it. Now am even more wowed. What an exquisite photo. The orange lichen on the rocks is probably my favourite element, followed closely by the way you have placed the large rock to counterbalance the beautiful old house. The vibrant colours are attractive and are complemented beautifully by a superb sharpness and depth.

I chiostri sono un soggetto che adoro. Sono rari e squisiti. Hai catturato tutti i dettagli perfettemente.

What a grand old building and I'm delighted to know that it's still being used for what it was originally intended for. Our GPO is now a luxury hotel :(. I was saddened to hear what they did in order to build Maddison Square Garden though. Superb choice of vertical frame, excellent symmetry and a truly artistic perspective created by the repeating arches. They don't make buildings of this quality and artistry anymore, so it's good to see the golden oldies being looked after.

I think this might be your 300th photo here on TE - how time has flown! So congratulations on this milestone. And congratulations on the calibre of the photo itself. The sunset colours are enticing, and of course, where else in tH world could you find a treasure like these old ruins and the graves standing side by side, but in Ireland? Thanks for sharing, have a lovely day.
Cheers

Sorry, been inactive for a little while, tire of these sites.
Love this shot, a very good daily life image, looks like the boat won't be going anywhere soon in this low tide. The inclusion of the couple waiting and perhaps talking adds so much to the composition.
Namaste,

Never thought that Turkey can be this cold. Learn somthing new :) This is really an excellent shot. I love the fresh snow, not many foot prints yet. Really beautiful colors and soft pastel tone.
Those buildings makes me think of the communistic type living highrises.

A very good capture of these two very different buildings. The contrast in colours and architecture is striking.
The view is very well framed, by the trees and sky first, then by your black frame.
I like the reflections in the modern building, and I notice the little, blue squares as eye-catchers : They seem to be opening windows !
TFS and have a good evening.

As always, you have given us an interesting note - and a very fine photograph to illustrate it!
By stepping back a little and using a longer focal length, you have "compressed" the perspective well and made the abbey and church appear larger within the frame of the jawbones than that which we usually see. The effect is delightful and makes much more of a feature of these fine old builtings. I know that we do not see the wider view, but that is compensated by a fine foreground of red roofs.
Lovely light and colours, perfect exposure, superb composition and exquisite depth of field and sharpness.
Beautiful!
Kind Regards,
John. |
