I think you are attracted to the stunning roofscape as much as we do. The canal leads extending the depth and perspective to the eyecatching backdrop. Lighting & colours are great and plenty of wonderful soft shadows. This is a charm urban shot that you have composed so superbly. Well done. TFS.

An excellent portrait and placement very well detailed full of facial features. Lighting is good with soft light and shadows in natural colours. Imho, you still can benefit from a bit more sharpness particularly around the eyes - the vital element in portraiture, Well done

A quaint old stone house and its rustic wall with so much character full of delicate textures filled by some the catchy colors to draw the eyes. A simple wonderful find that you have really brought out so much out of this. You have great light there, strong contrast and a neat shot with a special local charm. Well done.

What a great peaceful place to visit that looks so lovely to sit and watch the world go by. A wonderfully composed shot in great clarity and plenty of strong green around with the wonderful old tree adding immediate interest. I love to see a close up of this amazing root system with lovely details all round and the matured colours. Indeed this looks fabulous, beautifully registered. Great capture, Congrats.

Hi Bev,

An interesting note and this sounds as though it could be a fascinating place to visit. Can you actually get into the castle although it is inhabited or can you only explore the grounds? You see, as a member of the National Trust for Scotland, I think I could get in either free or half price, though that may well change if these damn nationalists manage to disrupt the kingdom!

Well, the weather here certainly looks favourable and you have made the most of the nice sky (you always seem to get nice skies) and come up with a fine composition. No gates or walls this time but a lovely little path, a bridge and a couple of short fences to act as fine "lead in" lines to the picture and with the castle perfectly placed in the frame too. And, of course, excellent framing from those twin foreground trees.

Lovely soft light and colours, super shadows on the near ground, spot-on exposure and exquisite details and sharpness.

Hello Bev,with the little path winding across the bridge and on toward the Castle you have given the shot a really nice sense of depth with the little figures adding scale and interest.
I imagine that the leaves will have appeared on the Beech trees by now, so it was fortuitous that you managed to get this nicely composed photo when you did,it`s lovely.

Je savais que Royan avait payé de loursd tributs au bombardements , mais c'est la première fois que je vois cette élise . Un édifice moderne , voire futuriste , qui ne manque pas d'intéret . Belle présentation dans le ciel bleu , avec les jardins fleuris au premier plan .
