    Hi Tiffany
What a view and to be in the cavern is a fascinating experience in the geological sense but being underground also requires all the photographic skills! I love the wonderful warm colour in this cave shot: I remember at school how the teacher dinned into us how to differentiate between stalactites and stalagmites.....this shot brings it all back so vividly. Great find and great work. Tx for sharing.
    Best regards

    Hello Gladys,

This is a beautiful portrait of this pair of fine Shire horses, all dressed and shackled up for work.

What I love most about this picture, apart from the lovely subject matter, is the gorgeous soft light which, coming from the side, illuminates the heads of the horses beautifully as well as their legs, bringing out the lovely colours and textures of their forms perfectly.

A beautiful portrait with gorgeous light and colours, perfect exposure and exquisite details and sharpness.

    Beautiful!

    Kind Regards,

    John.

    Hello Gert,

This photograph is of even better technical quality that your last posting - the details here are stunning, even on the full-sized version on "beta" TE. And the light and colours are remarkably good too considering that this is a scan taken from a forty year old colour slide.

But what's more interesting is the scene itself - a scene that nowadays must certainly have changed so very much. And a scene from much happier times in Kabul.

There's so much detail here that we can sit and examine just so many of the people in this image. Remarkably, they all appear to be men but their dress seems to be quite varied. Most, to me at least, appear to be wearing what I would consider to be "traditional" garb with some form of headdress from folded cloth, like a miniature turban - but one or two - like the man in centre foreground - is wearing a more western style jacket and a cloth cap - while the man behind the man at left front appears to be wearing a collar and tie and a suit.

A fascinating shot of everyday life with tons of interest and lots to see and examine in close detail.

And, of course, a fascinating note about your varied and troubled peregrinations in these parts.

    Fabulous!

    Kind Regards,

    John.

    Hi Bev
Erquy? what type of name is that? very strange!

and when i think about Volcanic rock, I certainly don't think of France right away either - but obviously its in many places around the world.

I like that you added in the little pieces of the town in the bg too, just to make it easier to relate to.

lots of jagged rock here, nice shot, something very different and unexpected.

Always enjoy your shots from Denmark.
    this one is no different.
whats not to like about it...large puffy clouds to fill out the frame, warm light despite the white and blue colors, charming boats all around and excellent exposure.

    Hi JJ
this one is all about the FG presence, but the Bg fills up the frame nicely too.

looks like the lighting was difficult to control in the upper portions, but you did a great job with it.

love the smooth silky look in the lower area, especially the water as it looks like glass.

    Hi Rob
you know what this looks like? looks like you placed a see through curtain down in front of your camera lens :)

i have to say, its a pretty cool and unique take on the much photographed Niagara Falls.

for obvious reasons, the people are very very important to size scale. If you took this at night without people, it may not have the same impact.

    excellent post

yes, you've supplied us with many fine summer shots of warmth...now you have to prepare yourself for the winter!

I like the way the photo climbs taller and taller.
and I have to say that the exposure level is spot on perfect, wouldn't want to change anything to the photo.

the lower fg is sweet too, makes me want to sit down there and just enjoy the view!

    Hi Ray
I was trying to guess where this photo was taken, i didn't at all think it was Alaska!
I was thinking somewhere in the northern continental states like Montana or something like that...guess I was wrong!

Looks extremely barren and lonely up here, you could certainly be in alot of trouble if you find yourself in trouble...if you know what i mean.

beautiful landscape shot, makes me want to go hiking.
    nice shot
